Great conversation. Love what's happening in the sport. Jett has really helped it be exciting partially by his riding and partially by creating a higher bar for other riders, causing them to up their game. And, all the new bikes that have come in and are coming in. The scary thing is is that he's going to get better and better. Throw in up and coming US riders and foreign ones like Prado. Mind blowing. So exciting.

Eli is riding too hard to call it quits! It seems like he is measuring Jett to see what he needs to do to beat him next season. You would think that if it was his last season there would be team orders to help Webb! I think we will see Eli outdoors.

Yep...when Eli is "on" he rides a 450 like a 250. He's had glimpses of it this year, but no consistency. Would be great to see him fully back.

I really like Eli. Fierce competitor he can see this new guy and he wants to see if he can take a piece, can he compete? Thats awesome to me and i really respect it. Would have been easy to retire. I dont think he can beat him, maybe once he can. But lets face it Jett is a freak and time is not on his side. Tomac will always be a legend and i will always be a huge fan.

Eli is a Great Rider when he's on his game like Ryan V. Or Chad Reed just naming a few who gets those random wins and championships on and off early or late in their career. But history has proven riders like McGrath and Jett are those who absolutely dominate in their prime. It's very rare to have riders like those guys but it's a different level of talent. I have always been a Tomac fan and hope to see him continue to race

Eli has 5 national titles as he won a 250 National Championship too. I respect how down to earth John was. He didn't expect a teenage Eli to compete with grown men equally. He was giving him the time to grow into his body and strength and he felt the whole industry needed to factor that in with more rides. I agree fully with that, they give up on dudes before they're done growing mentally and physically.

@@AlaskaTRX for sure Clinton was forgetting about on the the MX titles when he was doing is his list. Add on the SX titles Eli shouldve won(at least 2-3 more minimum and his career is Top 5 all time quality. He's eclipsed RV and Dung with the Star years imo.

I love RV but Eli has surpassed him for me simply due to longevity and the ability to stay healthy(last year was the first time he missed races in 5+ years, RV never stayed healthy that long).

Two days later at Denver supercross 2024 and Tomac announces he is all in for the remainder of the 2024 season, outdoors included!!!!! AND he intends to do the same through 2025!!!! THE BEST NEWS OF THE YEAR! Awesome! This thing where motocross racers retire by 27 is total bullshit! These guys, if they take care of themselves and are fortunate enough to avoid too many injuries, should be racing and fully competitive well into their 30’s, no reason not to be! That is a big if. Jett has lucked out numerous times this year in his crashes. He is one bad femur break from disaster. I've seen it many times in our sport. Bob Hanna was untouchable and broke his femur water sking!! Never the same again.

How did no one think Webb would be better than Tomac this season? Seriously? Webb went to a MUCH better bike injury free and Tomac had a serious injury and got another year older into his 30s. Webb hasn't challenged he's capitalised on mistakes etc.. sexton Webb Anderson should of stepped up the game this season and stopped jett, really the only one that gives me hope of taking jett on head to head is Tomac! And yes Webb has not blamed the bike because that bike has made him a lot better in opinion and suites his body stature and riding style better than the ktm. And again ill go back to Eli I believe that the only way Webb can win this championship is Eli getting it together this weekend and pushing jett to the limit the full 20 and forcing a mistake. I know jetts smart and excellent rider but I don't think he'll be able to contain himself if it happens.

I think eli is on the decline til retirement. Hes still great but the injury didnt help, his endurance seems iffy at times compared to some others and between chase, hunter, jett, etc coming up. And alot of talent in 250s. Hes not going to be dominant consistently anymore.

If Tomac comes back next season he’ll still loose to Jett in supercross. A 21 year old is going to be faster than a 32 year old. It’s a no brainer. I’m not even a Jett fan but it’s common sense. Tomac will win some races but he won’t beat Jett for that championship. Hell, Tomac won’t even beat Webb in the standings next season.

At least he is out there still trying. Even if he knows Jett is faster he is not afraid to get beat. Look at dungey in 2017, he knees Eli was faster so he quit cause he knew he couldn’t hang. Competitors have that mindset of always improving. Look at tiger woods, always trying to get better.
