I was PISSED at Wilson for blaming House the next season. Because it made NO sense. House done really really bad things and Wilson doesn't care, sometimes he just does them BACK but he didn't do anything wrong here. He called his friend for a ride home because he had been drinking, normal. Friend never got the message, friends GF whom he doesn't like showed up instead, they trade barbs (This seems to be how they comminate and both sort of like it). Decides he doesn't want ride from GF and gets on a bus, GF follows. None of that is that all crazy, it's actually NORMAL, especially for House. You are not REQUIRED to take a ride from someone. AFTER GF gets hurt and House has forgotten Amber consciencely (Actually this is sort of Chase's fault as he was the one who had him "forget about Amber" while under hypnoses ), but still remembers her subconsciously he tries so hard and risk so much to find her and diagnosis her … he flat lines, seizes and ends up with brain bleed!

House risked death 2x to find the answer. And his actions did NOT lead to her death. House was never at factual fault. He called expecting Wilson. Amber came...if she had NOT. House would have either taken the bus by himself OR called a cab. House left his cane there...which is a signal of how much he did NOT want to be anywhere near Amber because Amber is Wilson's girl and House did not like her. Amber decided to take the cane to House, if she had not...House would have gotten it the next day. Also, Amber took the anti-viral medication which is what doomed her.

Here is the thing though, unless you're really asleep. It is not possible. At least I never seen a patient close their eyes. When you die, and if you are awake that is saying. You will lose sight of vision before ever realizing to shut your eyes. This death was way to fast to be honest. The least thing that would have happened is, she would have slow death in where she might fall asleep and never wake up which would explain why she closed her eyes. But as for a instant death like this. It's not possible. When they took my father off life support, I remember every feeling in the world about it. Though he was asleep, death did not instantly happen. It took anywhere between 3 to 10 mins.

She wanted her last feelings to be happy ones, and for his last moments with her to be peaceful. They deserved each other. Good alignment, the two of them, despite how conniving amber could be. Big soft fat bleeding hearts. All we are is experience. Experience is like the wind. It's little more than the sum of its parts. It's hard to pin down. When you go to show someone, it might be there, or it might not, but either way it's just as much the same wind or lack of it. The last moments are meaningful as any of the other ones. The first ones. The ones in the middle. But the thing is, is that it's not meaningless. This human orientation to the serial effect. First and last is the most important. Because when you tell a story, those are the most important parts. How you choose to define the start and the end of something, or what it is and what it isn't, is most of how we understand all things. Cause and effect. Beginning, end. So, to make sense of things, we think of now always as now. As a nonstop moment. The world moves around us, or us around it, all to the beat of the same drummer called time. Yet, we are free to think out of rhythm, and make decisions. We feel like we're playing an MMORPG, exploring the vast open map. In the game, you can take all the time you need. Go everywhere. Do everything. In any order. In real life, everything is always changing. Lines don't exist, so the more we squint and examine them with a microscope, the more blurry they appear. Human connection is an experience like wind, but there is something about it that feels...right. Right in a way that is peaceful and soft and just a little while longer. I don't know where I'm going with this...death changes everything. And that everything, is the everything that life means, and both are nothinf, because it's all lines, and from a distance, from the right angle, with the right eye, all those blurry squiggles resolve into indivisibility.

There's a lesson here. We don't know when OUR last feeling/experience is be. Somewhere between 2300 to 2400 people will die today from cardiovascular disease. Most will just drop dead and not be resuscitated. What will be the last feeling, last emotion, last sentiments of most of them. Will they harbor resentment against someone who wronged them. Anger against an unfaithful partner. Bitterness over being passed up for a promotion. Or will they express how much they love the people in their lives and feel gratitude for the life they have and the people in it. 3700 people die daily of in motor vehicle accidents. Both CVD and MVAs are sudden unexpected fatal situations that occur... What will you chose to be your final exchanges with the people in your life. What will be the last feelings you will have.

I think Wilson purposefully stood there because he's conflicted.. he already blames House for Amber's death, yet he still think of him as his closest friend. so he stood at the far end of the room instead of the other side of his bed, and immediately left when he made sure he's fine (awake). a masterpiece is made of those little details.

And House is talking about both physical pain and emotional pain. House is a tortured soul...he distrusts his own mother, who was repeatedly unfaithful to his childhood father figure. That father figure was cold, harsh, demanding and merciless to House. House's story (in Son of Coma Guy) about the janitor in Japan who was a brilliant diagnostician that everyone had to pay attention to even though he had zero status is House revealing how he views himself. House thinks his genius is the ONLY reason any one puts up with him. For the most part, House's acerbic nature and sharp, curt verbal takedowns and retorts and withering degrading of others pretty much makes that the case. The only two people who seem to push past all that to actually LIKE House are Wilson and Cuddy.

Kinda reminded me when I put my first dog down. Obviously doesn't compare to a human you love, but still. He's in my earliest memory, and we took him to the vet when I was 16. I held him as the vet administered the poison. I thought right before she stuck him, "he's still fully alive. I could stop her right now, overpower her if I need to." Then she started to push the plunger down. "I can't stop her now, it would be monstrous." Then, as I felt the life ebb out of him, I couldn't help but think he felt frightened and betrayed. "Oh my God, I've killed my dog." You hear about cutting life support to from unconcious patients, but I can't imagine cutting life from a loved one while laying down with them and talking face to face. I guess the one bright spot would be that she was fully cognizant of the circumstances, and understood this was the only path for her. Still, the primitive part of you doesn't understand that.

This episode was obviously about Wilson, but House's conviction in wanting to stay on the bus because "it doesn't hurt here" immediately being destroyed by the use of one of the earliest lines we've heard him say in the show, was super special. In the matter of one second he realized that nope, you don't always get what you want; that he might not want to be in pain but he has people to there for and a life worth living. Only takes one second for him to change his tune and stroll right off that bus.

I follow Dr. House occasionally and probably in the most "distant" way. But damn the whole Wilson act was awesome. So realistic.

Super underrated use of music here. The transition from the hospital bed with that fast, anxious strumming, culminating in the abrupt stop when Amber answers his question. And then the somber acoustic song about reflecting on innocent childhood and how the times pass into memory. It's perfect, all of it.

One of the greatest lines in any show I've seen. "It doesn't hurt here". Meaning he would rather die than return to the painful reality. Something many people can relate to.

It is a thing, that able bodied people don't tend to understand, but it's incredibly exhausting being disabled, being in pain all day every day, unable to do the things you want and need to do. You just want a day off, a break, a holiday away from the pain, but you never get one, it's every day. There's a reason why a lot of people with disabilities end up killing themselves. It's an escape, from pain and torture.

"It doesn't hurt here." House is talking about more than his leg pain. He's talking about this pervading and I argue expanding sense of dread mixed with ennui (what the Hindu's coin as Dukha or in the Buddhist version an undertow of dissatisfactoriness) that House is plagued with. House's exceptional intelligence takes the interest, the wonder, the marvel out of life. Imagine if when you look at a rainbow you simply see variations light frequencies, or sunsets simply optics caused by a combination of Rayleigh Scattering and aerosol pollution. In many ways, this is what life is to House. Stripped of its "magic", imbued with severe rationalist cynicism, Life becomes an exercise in the inane. Everyone, every person is a hypocrite and a liar. And most people embrace willful self-delusion, rather than face reality. House looks at reality without filters. He sees himself living a lonely, solitary, empty life. Pleasures are transient and often transactional. Pain is intractable and ever-present. People come and go and rarely stick around long enough to matter to him and/or for him to matter to them. He sees himself becoming a grim, bitter, sullen, angry old man in constant pain, incapable of forging true deep abiding connections, save perhaps for Wilson. House's pain is emotional, physical, and dare I say, spiritual--he cannot fathom a quality to existence that extends beyond the physical form which itself is broken and limiting!

I cried thru out this whole scene. For Wilson to finally forgive House shows how he still needed House as much as House needed Wilson.

I really feel for Wilson and the emotions he’s going through. I’ve had to put down two of my dogs and I’ve had them my entire life. I lost one of them because they were very old and in constant pain, and the other because of a malignant tumor. They meant everything to me. It hurts in an indescribable way to watch someone you care about slipping away from you and life itself. This episode made me cry.

Everytime I watch this masterpiece of an episode, I am just unable to hold back my tears. The acting, the music, the cinematography, everything about these two episodes (House's head & Wilson's heart) is an example of sheer perfection in television history.

These two episodes will never fail to make me weep like a baby. House desperately trying to remember, the bus crash scene (oh god tears be flowing), Amber saying goodbye to Wilson (more fucking tears), and Amber and House on the bus, followed by House looking at Wilson outside of his room so meaningfully. In a way it's almost like he's trying to convey with his eyes "please don't leave me". Hugh Laurie and the entire cast are such good actors. Apart from season 8 but that's besides the point.

I never expected this episode can make me cry so hard, even 10 minutes after seeing the end... until now. What makes this more powerful for me is that I know Amber as the CB , and she is before she met Wilson, and she really shows love for Wilson, when she angry with Wilson's decision to buy what she wants, while she wants Wilson to be open and choose what he wants. Even in the event that happened in House's head, she accepts the fact that House will be there in her relationship with Wilson. I never expected I would love her character this much. Not to mention some of the rare moments I see House feeling real guilt, more so because no matter how cold and distant he seemed, he actually cares for people around him, especially Wilson and Cuddy.

Although I didn't like Amber very much, but Wilson was very sorry at this moment.... I totally understand that kitten, I know how it is..... Only I did not disconnect my grandmother in the hospital from the ventilator, and she was dying at home, in the next room, I did not say goodbye to her like that ... At least he kitty said goodbye to Amber, I was afraid of her corpse...
