This racquet with weight at 3/9, SW around 325 is the best thing for me since SixOne days. It has beautiful pocketing and dwell time while it doesn't feel completely underpowered like a prestige pro. Highly recommend this for one handed backhand and allcourt players with good technique. I play it with Hawk Touch/Velocity 22/23 kg. Feel/Touch/Maneuverability is 10/10 ,)

@@WaltKurtz68 all depends on what the Swingweight is. For example If you got Tennisnerds racket to start with and added 2.5g each at 3&9 it would only be 296+10. Add another 5g at 12 (15sw) and see if that helps.
@hybrid11theory75

@@WaltKurtz68 You have to check your SW. My string setup is explained in my comment. To me the UP 16x19 feels a little more powerful than a Gravity Pro, but not by much. Power is determined mainly by your SW and strings. If your SW is below 315 the racquet may feel completely dead. Should get it at least to 325. The 18x20 is more dense and overall more demanding... I enjoy a customised 16x19 much more, due to versatility.

I'm glad that you have finally did a review on this frame! I play tested this frame about three months ago. It gave me some serious early 2000's head ti radical and i.radical vibes. Like you said, it's a no frills control racquet. And there's nothing wrong with that. Great review man!

I have the 18x20 version of this frame. I love it. I play with that and the Pro Staff 97 v13. Believe it or not it turned the pro staff into my “power” racquet. The only thing I recommend for the 18x20 version is some lead tape at 3 and 9. Also, drop your tension a couple pounds.

@tenninerd currently i am playing with a Yonex VCore 95 (2019), I also play pretty flat and with onehanded backhand. Do you think this racquet might give me a bit more of power without loosing control...? or will be pretty much the same since both racquets has very similar specifications....? Thanks in advance for your comments

How advanced a player need to be to get advantage from UP (or BP)? Imo upper intermediate players are better off with controlled power rackets such as Strike/Blade 100, Ezone, etc; I even consider extended control racket for bigger power while still maintaining the control template (e.g Whiteout XTD 18m, Ezone 98+)

Hi, have really been enjoying all the contents that you have been putting up. Thanks so much. Just wondering, how would this racquet compare to the Percept 97? I believe you mentioned that the Percept 97 is also "in need" of customization (more weight on the racquet) before being playable. Which would you prefer? Thanks a lot. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!
@Tennisnerd
@Tennisnerd 6 ай бұрын
Thanks! I think the Percept 97 I got was very much below average specification, which required me to customize it. For some, that might not be the case. However, even the average Ultra Pro will need customization. But in many ways, they are similar. I think I would go Ultra Pro thanks to the more connected feel.Happy New Year!

Specs were detailed in video are almost similar to Yonex V Core Pro 97 L (290 g unstrung) + strings 15 g + dampener 4-5 g + tape protection frame at head 3g + overgrip, etc. Balance & Beam almost similar, too. RA 60. Pattern 16x19 in YVCorePro97L is more close/tight in central area of Mains. (2L / 2R) It is control oriented racket needs customization to get more power and to improve stability when missing sweet spot.

Hey, 3 and 9 will increase the twist weight and make the racquet less prone to twisting, which tends to work better for flat-hitting players. Lead tape at 12 increases the swing weight more (less needed) and tends to work better for spin players.

So 2x2 x 2 on the sides(3 and 9) + 2 x 3 , approximately 14 SW points. So overall 311 SW with the added weight ? Damn that's low :-o So the dampner made up the difference all the way up to 320 SW ?
@msalvs
@msalvs 6 ай бұрын
You’re right, I think Jonas may have added 2x2 at 12. Hence he’d have +8sw at 3-9 and +12sw at 12. With dampener it’s going to be close to those 320.
