It's weird, the Spurs weren't able to repeat as champs but somehow won multiple championships in the 2000's to consider themselves as a dynasty, their best chance to repeat as champs was in 06, the greatest semifinal series ever, two 60 win teams matchup between San Antonio and Dallas, the Mavs almost blew a 3-1 lead in this one but somehow managed to escape game 7 in OT, this was only Dirk as a superstar and a bunch of great role players vs Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu, a powerhouse trio, if the Spurs were to win in 06, they'll be no doubt they would've three-peat as they won the following in 07 starting their streak in 05.

Josh Howard and Jason Terry weren’t just great role players. They weren’t all stars (at least Howard would be the next year) but Terry nearly averaged 20 ppg that series isn’t something even a great role player is able to do especially before the scoring boom in the mid 2010s.

@manz7860 no, but you spawned the argument when bringing up disappointing playoff failures. Please don't bring up the defending championship argument either, 5 rings = 5 rings. For me, Kobe's better, he faced a lot of adversity in his prime, faced the greatest conference in NBA history. He wanted to win without another superstar on his roster, his team from 05-07 were so bad that Kobe gets a lot of flack. But no problem, Kobe was patient enough, embraced the challenge and was able to reach 3 consecutive NBA finals from 08-10 and repeated in 09 and 10, that's why Kobe is the GOAT of the 2000's, Skap Attack thinks he's the last of a kind of NBA alphas who doesn't win championships in an easy way like how LeBron destroyed the competitive balance of sport in 2010 and today so many weak minded losers just wanted huge contracts without the desire to win an NBA championship.

Pau Gasol vs Spurs Playoffs 04,08 &13 Pau Gasol averaged 15.1 points, 8.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists 1.1 Blocks on in 13 games on 49% FG against the Spurs in the playoffs in his career. Swept 🧹 twice in both his series without Kobe. Kobe Bryant averaged 28.6 points, 5.6 rebounds ,4.5 assists & 1.3 Steals on 49% FG in 22 games against the Spurs in the playoffs since Gasol has been in the League! Winning 3 of those 4 matchups! Kobe was easily the best player this league has seen since MJ & nobody comes close. LeBron fans cry about Wade vs the Spurs, who averaged averaged 17.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists on 48% in 12 games versus the Spurs in the Finals. Kobe beat a prime big 3 with his second option performing like a one time all star who had never won a single playoff game in 3 back to back trips to the post season.
@robert-surcouf9 ай бұрын
I don't know which big 3 you talk about but if it's the spurs, Gasol is always rank above Parker or Ginobili so Bryant had the strongest teammate. If you talk about the big 3 celtics, they were already past their prime in 2010 with each one between 33 and 35 and a post injury Garnett. If it's about the 2008 celtics, Bryant was horrendous all the finals but game 3 (and maybe game 2) It's also prime Gasol that saved Bryant ass in the nba finals 2010.
@TheTdbj9 ай бұрын
@@robert-surcouf Pau Gasol was never better than Ginobili or Parker even in international circles. He’s not even the best player from Spain during the 2000s, Rudy Fernandez did more for Spain. He’s not the best Gasol brother, Marc eclipsed him during his time in the league.
@TheTdbj9 ай бұрын
@@robert-surcouf Also your literally here to hate ? Weird how you say the 2010 Celtics are bad. Pau Gasol never saved Kobe from anything and if you at Kobe & LeBron vs the Celtics in 08 & 10 you will realize that both shot sub 40% against the Celtics. The clear two best in the league. They played defense. What is a prime Gasol. Kobe could’ve did this with any star Foward. Pau Gasol wasn’t even mentioned as a top 5 PF in the league. Guys like Brand were better and really was hovering in the Aldridge,Smith range of talent
@robert-surcouf9 ай бұрын
@@TheTdbj Ask nba fans who they will redraft first between Parker and Gasol for the draft 2001 and most of will answer you Gasol. Ginobili had only 2 all star and 2 all nba appearance unlike the 6 all star and 4 all nba for Gasol. For the national selection, Gasol was in the best start 5 of the competition many times, was mvp twice and the fiba best european player twice so he's aguarbly the best spanish player between 2001 and 2014. Marc during his grizzlies tenure had Conley, Allen and Randolph as teammates wich is better than any Pau teammates between 2001 and 2007. I didn't say that the 2010 celtics but only that their prime was already over so you missread or misunderstand which is absolutely not the same as being bad. If you think Gasol didn't save Bryant, check the 2010 finals, especially the wonderfull 6/24 from Bryant on game 7. James best teammates between 2007 and 2010 was an old Ilgauskas while Bryant had prime Gasol, Odom and Artest and a young Bynum which helps to have better shot and increase your filed goal percentage. Nevertheless, i never made a comparison with James in my first comment and i think Bryant was the clear best player of the two between 2007 and 2010 so i don't have any love for James and hate for Bryant (actually, it's rather the opposite). If Bryant could do it wit any star forward and Gasol wasn't a top 5 forward, then why did the lakers trade for him and why was he an all star and all nba guy in 2009 and 2010 ? Elton Brand carried a team to the playoffs once between 1999 and 2010 while Gasol Gasol did it three times between 2001 and 2007 (the grizzlies also never won more than 23 games before Pau Gasol but made 3 times 45 wins at least with him in a loaded western conference). Aldridge wasn't an all star or all nba until 2011 so he was far from Gasol in the late 2000's. For Smith, i don't know which one you talk about (there's a lot of smith)

@@robert-surcouf My phone died while making a lengthy response, before I could post. So now I am mad & I’m going to destroy you. Because you’re not talking about anything. Manu beat Team USA(spearheaded by Tim Duncan) in 2002 World Cup winning🥈& in the 04 Olympics winning🥇. Not only that but he actually carried and saved Tim Duncan in Game 7 of the 2005 NBA finals, scoring 11 of his 23 points in the 4th. Tony Parker had a better series than Gasol has EVER had when he outscored Prime LeBron, averaging 24.5PPG on a ludicrous 57%(!) from the field. In that same series LeBron averaged 22 PPG on 35%. You mention teammates improve FG%(which isn’t true) and not PLAY STYLE. LeBron shoots most of his in or around the rim so shooting sub 50% is even worse than a jump shooter who is going to shoot sub 50% because it’s less consistent than layups and dunks. Kobe Bryant had the most points on either team, most points in the 4th quarter and literally iced the game at the line. Lol. Also if Kobe has Antwan Jamison like LBJ did, the Lakers would’ve made the finals in 08. Pau Gasol is very replaceable. The Lakers had a top 3 seed prior to trading Kwame. Lol
