Hi, have been watching your video for quite some time, i like how you cook Chinese/ asian ingredients in western style. I’d like to bring one ingredient into your attention, that is black wood ear( 黑木耳/雲耳), it is the most common iron- rich food you can find, 100 g of dried wood ear has over 90 mg of iron. I think many vegans, especially women has trouble consuming enough iron in their diet. Eating wood ear can absolutely help ppl with that! I hope you can help ppl to get to know this food( pretty sure most westerners has never heard of it) once again, great video, always give me new ideas of cooking. Thank you! Kong hei fat choi!

To help alleviate my food insecurity, I rely on beans and rice. Since beans and a whole grain make a complete protein, beans and rice, beans and cornbread, chili verde beans and potatoes (I don't peel the potatoes), even baked beans and whole wheat toast give me a balanced diet. This new recipe from you gives me a lovely Asian flavor to add to my repertoire. Thank you!

A fantastic recipe! I didn't even know this channel was devoted to vegan recipes until I got a few in, they're so intuitive and delicious. If anyone wanted to take a note from certain Caribbean recipes instead of adding cornstarch just let the beans simmer for an hour or so. They'll break down a bit and release more starches into the sauce, thickening it and saving you from adding extra starch. It also tends to make bean dishes more creamy.
