I’m listening to an audiobook (The Serviceberry, by Robin Wall Kimmerer), she’s so eloquently articulating how it would feel to live our lives in balance with a “gift economy” rather than an economy based on scarcity and greed. Her writing is from an indigenous perspective. So I have this as idea in my mind, to be grateful for all of the earth’s gifts, and I see your beautiful eloquent Chinese Vegetable Soup video. Not only are you sharing your gifts of comforting and healthy (human and earth healthy) recipes with all of us, but you go one gift further and even share the printed recipes in your show notes so it’s easy to get started and make your recipes in our kitchens. This is a beautiful example of a gift economy. My reciprocal gift to you is to share my deepest gratitude for you sharing your lovely recipes on KZbin. Your recipes have been instrumental for a shift in cooking and nourishing my husband and I for almost three years now. Thank you thank you 🙏🏼

January is a great month for a hearty vegetable soup recipe and this Chinese vegetable soup looks delicious and a nice change from my more Appalachian vegetable soup that kept Mom from starving to death during The Depression. I'm sure gai lan is one of the vegetables I've seen in the Asian grocery store but had no idea how I'd use it. I need to pick up some gai lan and silken tofu to make this soup. Thanks for another delicious recipe.

The soup was so good, fresh, authentic, tasty that fast forward to 10 yrs I can't forget them and their way of how kindly everything was served, checked on us. To them:: ONCE AGAIN A VERY BIG THANK YOU. LOTS OF LOVE❤. Thanks for making me remember them with your soup recepie.

Wil this looks like the perfect soup for these cold days! I’d even make a special trip to the Asian grocery for the baby corn and Chinese broccoli. I know that broccoli would not be in my regular market, and I could get canned baby corns, but the fresh looks so much better. Love that you used potato starch! I’ve started using it with my air fryer tofu and in thickening other things. It makes the AF tofu much crispier. Thank you Wil…another winner that my non vegan household would eat! 🙏🏻🫶🏻xx
