RIP Charles and thanks for posting this, Mike. I've listened to many of your videos and this is one of the best. 22:00 where he says that for Norwegian people, "carbs are not your friend." I am 1/4 Scandinavian and have to take Beano to digest almost all vegetables... I can handle most dairy but have to take lactose enzyme to digest whey protein. I have been resisting carnivore and have reincorporated sugar into my diet after many years because I was sick of depriving myself and not seeing any results, even doing keto. I have predictably gained weight but would really like to lose it as I have been attempting to do my whole life 🙄 I also like how he said that "you have to earn your carbs." I really wish everything I loved to eat (almost) didn't make my body worse. Lots of "food" for thought here. Thanks!

So, MIKE, when I got home, I looked up this man because you kept saying past tense when you first started talking and I thought well what is that all about? And then I looked it up. Oh my gosh he died way too young. And what’s interesting is that my grandfather and his son my uncle both died in their mid-40s of heart attacks. However, besides the genetics, they both drank and smokes and then my aunt and uncle of the same family died in the late 60s of the same heart issue both drinkers. Then my dad died of cardiomyopathy and he was 83 and he didn’t drink or smoke. He was very concerned about us kids. There’s only me and my brother but out of all my cousins, none of us have had heart issues, and none of us have died of heart issues. And my family is prone to being overweight and obese. That’s why I wanted to start taking care of my health after he passed in 2017. I didn’t start until 2018 because I didn’t get it. But now I do and I’m doing very well. I think sometimes genetics plays a huge role in some people and definitely lifestyle has a contribution to the end result. I’m so sorry about your friend. Very very sad. He was such a big influence.

I watched the interview not aware that he died five years ago. Knowing that he died at the age of 57, probably very shortly after this interview, gives me trepidation over adopting his practices. At the beginning of the interview, he downplays cardio for causing inflammation which got my attention. After reading that he died of a heart attack, I'm not going to skip my walk today. I’m walking as I’m listening. Great conversation. Although I do disagree with a few things. I take my iPad to go to three every night and I can’t even last 10 minutes and I’m out like a light for several hours. I get 6 to 7 good straight hours of sleep. The other thing is I’ve been carnivore for 13 months and after weight gain I have lost three sizes. My issues that I had before are way down to almost nonexistent and I have been faithfully exercising since November and walking since end of March due to the lousy spring we had here in Washington. as a female who will be 65 in August exercising and doing carnivore is the best thing I’ve done in my entire life. I feel and look better than I did on keto. Vegetables and keto kept me in inflammation. I don’t do any carbs. Fruit does not bother me and we live in a high agricultural community but I don’t do it very often. My problem area is below my belt, our belly button in my lower ab and hips. I know it will eventually come off, but boy is it hard in that area

Have you ever seen a small and wiry Asian man carrying a hundred pounds on his back easily? Muscle mass isn't anything. Condition is all that really counts. One of the toughest people I ever met was my former king fu instructor and he was small, but his body looked like it was covered in ropes his muscles were so toned. Never used weights either. 2 finger pull ups on a door frame, one arm handstand pushups, handstand on 3 fingers, etc... I have never seen anyone come close to his abilities, and he was not jacked up whatsoever.

You are describing a high level of Relative Strength. It’s definitely a useful type of strength for athletic movement.
