Man I had to check all of mine after this! Thankfully mine were all solid. I got two boxes here a week ago. All scheels had for soft tops. I like that they are heavier then the horns I usually shoot, but they’re also substantially slower. But for 16.99 Vs 25.99 I usually pay I can’t complain. I shot half a box and it was still pretty tight at 300. Possibly a box that Quality let slide. Glad you checked before risking your nephew

I bought some Remington Core Lokt 270s and the lead tips were flattened out on some and deformed. I just figured it was handled rough before making it to the shelf. Although I don't crimp everything for bolt actions, this is why I hand load. I'll by factory ammo once in a while just to shoot up to get the brass.

I'd like to reach out and request that you go back into manufacturing the Black Talon line. I have just a few left over (9mm & .45) that I bought in the early 90s. I've done the water-filled milk jug test and recovered the bullets from newspaper backstops. Those rounds flowered beautifully! They were the best rounds that I've ever seen. I'm now using Federal HSTs, but wouldn't hesitate on switching back to Black Talons if they were reintroduced to the market.

This is the reason I stopped buying and using factory center fire ammo a long time ago and use only my own hand-loaded ammo. These ammo are marketed as "premium" "supreme" "elite" "ultra" "super deluxe" brands and are sold at prices 2 to 3 times higher than standard brands. But the end products has more defects than a box of Wolf brand ammo made in the factory of a former Soviet Bloc country. The QC measure of the big three ammo manufactures/brands (Federal, Winchester, and Remington) is now almost non-existent. They load cartridges in lots of thousands on a daily basis, and their QC procedure for testing the final assembled product consists of nothing more than random sampling of 1 or 2 cartridges out of lots of hundreds or thousands. It's no wonder that so many defective cartridges make it into the customers' hand.

Unbelievable!!! What used to be one of my two go-to brands for my old Remington Mohawk .308 (Remington or Winchester) now shows the workmanship of something made in Taiwan or China. Besides, jamming in a semi-auto rifle, I think it could pose a safety risk. I very much hope you bring that to Winchester’s attention to ensure they STOP this substandard product design. After seeing this, I would no longer recommend this brand to anyone (very, very sadly). I only hunt with a Hawken muzzleloader nowadays. But that’s just unbelievable to me! Thank you for sharing this with the world (or at least anyone interested). Perhaps it’s because (and this is by no means an excuse) the demand for ammo is so high nowadays, it’s caused Winchester to lower-basement level-there standards. But still they are certainly an ISO company so the SHOULD have a great quality control system and redundancies to find this stuff before it makes it to the public. I wonder if it’s just one specific factory or multiple factories with such poor QC.

In total I have only ran 5 boxes of the ballistic silvertips 130g out of my .270wsm and all 100 rounds were top quality with excellent accuracy. I prefer the 140g Accubond CT’s so I have used them faithfully for a couple of years now. I have been seriously considering the Federal Edge TLR’s in 140g based as of late. Your video is one of several stating quality control issues with Winchester Ammo that I have come across. Even though I haven’t had a problem with Winchester Ammo ( white box is a separate issue all together), the accubonds are harder to come by and my Browning does love 140gr ! There’s only 3 cartridges missing from it. 17 left in the box. Each one of those cartridges got a deer on the last day of rifle season Upstate New York during various years including last year. I usually use Remington Core Lokt, but if I haven’t filled my tag during season and come up on the last day, i take a round out the top of my magazine, and replace it with one Ballistic Silvertip and I’m guaranteed to get a deer on the last day. Never seen anything like that with Winchester Ballistic Silvertip. There’s a store local to me that will actually take in trade boxes of factory ammo and then sell them “as new” to their customers. It’s been my experience they don’t thoroughly check what people are trading in for store credit. I’ve seen some odd things come out of there under many different brands... I picked up about 40cases of that ammo, and one that was damaged during loading. The cases were a little too short as well. That will cause a crimp problem. I want to thank you for bringing this up. Now I'll be looking for others down the road. I have a new Savage to load for and they recommended the Win. Not me!

Hello, we fount last month EXACTLY SAME quality issues with the chrome plated brass loaded with Nosler bullets!,,,Some loads were CRAZY hot. Other were started around 2400 FPS... I have a case primed bad: in the pocket the primer pressed in 90 degree rotated to it’s side !SHIT QUALITY! 3 out of 9was not ignited! Do not trust anymore! I try to upload a picture to you all in here: a nice bullet choice, and the worst assembly factory ammo I have ever seen! While WINCHESTERS one of the best and high runner caliber is the 300 Winmag! This is where we are now...

wow no good guys. iam on me seconde lot of these bad boys which i have bought in lots of 100 and put 120 of them so far thru my tikka t3x varmint 308w with not one dud round and i do check over every round by twisting tip, checking tip, primer, and cases before putting in my safe. shoot great and drop deer in their tracks every time. i guess i must have got a good batch or something love em.
@EastTexasOutlaws7 жыл бұрын
Yes it is one of my favorite rounds as well, thanks for watching and commenting
@RayBlackburn4 жыл бұрын
They must have fixed those problems as last boxes I used worked very good in my 7mm08 and the 308 all of them with a good factory crimp that could be seen very easily The problem I had with them was I show shooting a big hog twice in one of my videos with the 150 grain 308 silvertips and it kept on running to no telling where and at a $1.75 a round that is like buying a Lincoln and getting a Yugo when they delivered it Hey I bought a Lincoln!! Winchester, Sorry but all we had was a pink Yugo for a substitute LOL The nickel cases were nice and on the third reloading now with only one bad case from 20 so far after reloading them again today but I have been reloading them with 110 grain hornady spire points and they are very accurate now @ 3100 fps

ETO I recently bought 2 bags of Winchester 10mm brass. I found 4 pcs of brass, which was head stamped 38 Super. The brass measures 22mm in length and 9mm IDA??? I found another 3 pcs in another bag of 10mm. Nowadays Winchester makes junk products!! If you weighed the powder charge of those cases, you'll see how bad Winchesters quality control is. I pulled an entire box of Win. STW 160 gr. The powder charges range from 72.4 to 79.6. What crap!!! Thanks for the great vid!!!
