Gymnast has a slightly better strategy for sploosh kaboom where he goes along the diagonal. It's a tiny bit less cursor movement and if you get a hit in the corner you only have to guess between two directions instead of four. Still really bad luck for Linkus though.

that is a really cool idea. I don't think it would actually break anything either since the only island to have events involving other islands is the tower of the gods, and I'm pretty sure the randomizer has that event skipped anyway.

The problem with this randomisation is that there is a ton of really lame chests that require no items, and actually pretty few chests that do require items. Doing any skips before doing all the lame one just sets you up for disappointment.

Linkus opening the treasure charts and getting so many of them wrong made me scream internally. I don't speedrun the game, but I know the names and shapes of pretty much all of them, and the locations of most of the non-reef ones by heart. allow me to share some of my insights to try and be helpful rather than only complain: a good way to tell which fairy island is which is that they all point toward the center of the map, so the one where the heart is tilted 90 degrees to the right is eastern fairy island. if you don't know your east from your west, east is the direction that the play button on this video is pointing toward. I'm also pretty sure that thorned fairy island looks like an upside down spade. ♠️ the triangle islands all point with their small triangles toward tower of the gods, and with their big triangles away from tower of the gods, and they are all directly adjacent to it, making it easy to tell from a glance where they are in relation to it. and this may be obvious, but as for the reefs, they are obviously based on the sides a six sided die, so on those treasure charts you need to visualise the full square to deduce if there might be more eyes off the edge, rather than just count the eyes and go "that's four-eye reef" like Linkus did, when it's actually six-eye reef. don't let yourselves be bamboozled, and stay safe out there. 💙
