In a book a story by the first man to curcum-navigate the world single handed. There were no motors capable of helping a small yacht. Was becalmed and overwhelmed writing a moving account of how long and desperate it became . Capt. J Slocum is who the man was.

41 years ago I spent a few weeks anchored up almost exactly where you are right now! We enjoyed Moorea far more than Tahiti, mostly because we all used to do daily snorkles on the reef. I sure hope it hasn't changed too much. I love following your adventure Holly and have tons of respect for you doing it singlehanded. You kick ass!

Holly you do what so many of us sailors dream about. Getting onto the ocean and becoming a free spirit. It's feasibly not possible within my lifestyle and job obligations, but I've followed your travels for over two years and love your easy going approach of portraying your content.

To drop your head sail going downwind, bring in each sheet till the clew is near the center of the boat, cleat them off, go forward and drop the halyard and it will all land on deck. Doesn’t matter if it is a 150 or a 110 or even a sixty percent jib….they all will drop where you need it. As for how to best get around your dinghy, I honestly have no idea what would be the safest, you would know that better than I. Nice surroundings. As a suggestion, maybe tow a float on a long long that will release your tiller so when you go forward, if you were to fall over when you grab the line with the float it will disconnect the tiller from the self steering allowing the boat to swing into the wind and come to a stop so you can get back on board.

I liked the "Behind the Scenes" segment. You showed us that you can produce quality videos with a minimum investment in equipment. From my point of view, it's good to see how you deal with light to no winds as well. I found that to be a huge patience problem for me. Best of luck sorting out the engine issues. Let's hope it's as simple as low fuel levels. Charlie

Hey my favorite hippie. Hows it going? Slow I see with that break neck speed of your sailboat. Glad to see your parents came and rescued you before they had to leave. Love the hat in the beginning of your video. Sorry to hear that your motor is giving you problems. You might have to polish your fuel while you are there. Best tome sense you are so low on fuel. Plus I would scrub the inside of your fuel tank. And change your fuel filter because I bet its clogged now. Well I hope you're h a great time and thanks for sharing about your video recording toys. Well I'll let you go for now and I'll see you in a week. Happy sailing little miss wind hippie.

Had a fuel problem this year with water in my tank. Try pumping out the diesel. Tie a clean rod to a hose attached to a hand pump made for fuel gas/diesel. Take off the top access for what meters your fuel in the tank. Pump the fuel into a water separator that has a bottom drain and a clear bowl. Just temporarily mount the water separator on wood where you can place a capturing bucket below. Mount/tie on the house to the rod/fuel stick. Keep your rod and or stick pointed down to the tank bottom. On the discharge side, reroute the discharge side back to the tank. Water is heavier then fuel so water will collect in the bottom clear bowl of the separator. Discharge the water into a 5 gallon bucket for proper disposal. You will be able to filter out debris that pass through the water separator and more importantly the water. I bet you will be surprised at the amount of water that was in the tank. Diesel fuel really collects water. Lastly, install a good water separator in your fuel line. Hand pump - Example: Koehler transfer pump. Works by hand. Lots of different fuel separators. Get a good one. Don’t get one that has comments like: bottom bowl got soft, bowl melted with fuel. It’s easier then it sounds.

Next time you find yourself in one spot for a little while you should buy a piece of wood and carve a sculling oar and saddle suitable for your boat. It can also serve as a boat hook and to hold your jib out wide for downwind sailing. You will never find yourself without propulsion unless you also run out of fuel for your body.

Jib take down; rig a small line up the forestay inside the hanks. run it thru a block at the stem and back to the area of the halyard winch or the cockpit. use it to yank the jib down with going to the headstay. On second thought I'll bet you already know this but just in case...
