your mom and dad must be very happy that you have a boat buddy to help on your adventures. I know you don't need him, maybe he needs you, but together, there is more safety, and it makes me happy to think that you two can look out for each other as you drift.

Holly AGM 110A/h is perfect, I've got 4 105 AGM's on my house bank with 2 victron MPPT controllers and 520 watts from 3 panels, admittedly on a bit bigger boat at 34', I never run below 12.8 volts even when it's raining and I am living at anchor. Sweet, so love your videos

I love your channel because of how you have made the series a mostly contiguous story with a mix of raw audio and narration. This makes it fun to follow along and makes me look forward to new episodes so I can see what happens next.

Lol. The floppy hat saga needs to be made into a children's book. Btw, when I watch other sailing channels of couples doing what you do solo I am in complete awe. They make it seem so vexing and tiresome with two people and yet you remain so calm and stoic through it all. You are amazing.

You can use some elmers glue mixed with water in a spray bottle to soak the brim of the hat, let it dry in the sun, and get it to stay (somewhat) in place. Of course, if it gets soaked with rain or sea you will need to reapply.

Hi Holly thanks for the video. I am planning on a solo trip to F Poly in my 27’ Pacific Seacraft. You have me kind of scared about navigating in that shallow water with inaccurate charts. It is pretty hard for me to see ahead into the water and man the tiller at the same time. Do you think you could do it alone? And any suggestions for me? Btw I have a fantastic solar system with Victron controllers, I know yours will be a game changer for you! Ben S/V DAWN
@WindHippieSailing3 жыл бұрын
I didn't mean to make you scared! I've been in the Tuamotus for about 6 months and that was the only time I had Jarne on board helping me. Also, there are plenty of atolls that have really good charts. Totally easy and possible to do it solo!

I have watched all your videos and you have inspired me and made me more determined to just do it. I really admire you and confess I'm a little scared to do it but also excited to make a start. Love your videos xx

The videos "Adventures of an Old Sea Dog" show him starting with few skills, very cautious and sometimes scared at his first steps. The sailors who are still alive studied and learned before throwing themselves into new experiences. Study the heck out of something, then try it out in little steps.
