Aphex Twin is also HUGE in the hip hop commuity. Kanye wears an iced-out Aphex Twin symbol around his neck (I think it's a necklace)--look it up--and I know a lot of the younger guys like Travis Scott are super into his work too. He has been in the game since the 90s, and he has done all kinds of stuff, but if you really want to hear the albums that producers usually cite as being their favorites, go to Selected Ambient Works I & II. And if either of you make bears or want to learn how, they're essential, because they'll teach you how to really put some atmosphere, texture, and emotions other than just happy/sad stuff into your music. Yeah, he's a weirdo, but he does stuff to provoke you, not to offend you. Glad you guys liked the video! I've been with him since the jump, and I love seeing younger folks (I'm 52) get into him. And yeah, someone else said watch Come to Daddy--you should definitely see that one. Chris Cunningham, the director of this video, did some good work with some other dance music artists, like Bjork and Squarepusher that are amazing. Just look him up (and Spike Jonze and MIchel Gondry, too) on KZbin if you want some *great* reaction videos. Cheers!!!

I'd say the guys who lead the way for techno were Richie Hawtin / Plastikman and Carl Cox (of course - among others). I think of Aphex Twin the way I think of Flying Lotus (and yeah - if you've seen Kuso or some of Fly-Lo's videos the metaphor extends) where they're just lone geniuses doing what they want to do and sort of breaking electronic genres.

Thanks for your input, Justin. I'm glad you were able to laugh even though this was a frustrating experience for you. The idea here was that viewers had already seen this video and would be more interested in the response from the reactors. Our approach here was not to stop the video due to the video already being quite long. It was a calculated decision to reduce viewer fatigue. It's unfortunate we did not arrive at the same outcome but it's what we did. If you haven't seen the original I highly recommend it. It's available here on KZbin without the added input of two guys creating pretty decent content for a fledgling channel. Take it easy! 🤘🏾
