Considering the number of invasive privacy stuff that is with Windows 11, I think I'd just stick with windows 10

Zorin OS is an excellent option for those new to Linux or anyone else who wants a simple, elegant, and stable experience. It is an ideal Windows 10 replacement.

Another alternative is linux mint, specially if you have an old laptop/pc with their flavors (MATE and XFE). The development of Mint is community based unlike zorin.

@ikercardaensland8251 Sadly, Linux Mint does have the look and feel of a community project. It's fine, if you like Windows XP. Zorin OS also has a Lite Version, based on XFCE.

don't tell us BS. Windows 11 CPU requirements bypassed long time ago. You can install Windows 11 on your grandmas youth time computer like Pentium with a turbo button - just fine.

I just use StartAllBack for the UI elements you mentioned, including right-click context, lets me have the Windows 7 Start menu back too. For those complaining "it's paid" the price of your PC could likely buy hundreds of copies of StartAllBack at its existing price, hush. I mostly came here because there's been a resurgence of Win10 users lately, seems like they're taking a stand, wanted to see what EOL would mean in specific terms, since I did consider going back too.

my family isn't very well-off so the only computer I have is an old, slow laptop. I'm grateful to have anything at all but it really sucks that microsoft is ending support for windows 10. I really hope they reverse the decision because of backlash or maybe they lose a lot of money or something. to be honest I'll probably keep windows 10, I'm already cautious when I download stuff and there's likely going to be 3rd party programs made to keep windows 10 going. if I can't, for some reason keep windows 10 I'll most likely see what linux is all about as well.

Check to see if your CPU is supported first. If it's 10 years old, it's likely not anyway.

Or you can just dump Windows, which has become bloatware and spyware, and switch to Linux. It's easy, free, and doesn't spy on you.

i see where ur coming from, been using windows 11 since official launch, aint bad at all, and i swear, ive been thru all the bugs and everything. as for linux: good luck running games, not to mention that many apps dont support it, and your pc depends on *community-maintained* packages, which isnt really optimal. aint attacking, i aint a linux hater, i love using it on servers and stuff, but it's just not reliable for main os, and windows already lets you remove most of the bloatware and "spyware", if not all of it.

@@pizzabossxdHello, gaming is at an all time normality on Linux thanks to Valve (via ProtonDB), compatibility isn't linux's fault, it's the devs fault for not caring. And regarding packages, there are not many distros which entrust their packages to the community. Most linux distributions precompile packages specific for hardware compatibility and make sure each package is secure.

@@pizzabossxd You have a very outdated opinion on Linux. MacOS is worse at gaming than Linux.
@Zladnyl
@Zladnyl 28 күн бұрын
@@pizzabossxd your views are skewed, outdated, or otherwise full of cope and denial. These views of Linux haven't been the case in a few years now and Windows has objectively been downhill since Windows 7, and both 10 and 11 are that bad, and no you can't remove the bloat, spyware, and other negative aspects. When I can make windows do what I want it to do again and make it look how I want whether that's Windows 7 or Windows XP or Mac then maybe your opinion might be half correct but as it stands Windows is unsalvageable in all these ways and more.

I already know that you can actually bypass and install Window 11 on ''incompatible'' hardware. Honestly though, idk why but i just don't feel like doing that. My mom has Windows 11, and idk... i still just haven't really bonded with Windows 11 yet. So i think i'll actually switch to Linux or some other OS that's great for light gaming, etc.

1. If your pc can run windows 11 Clean install the latest version of windows 11 on your PC. You can easily skip microsoft account, which highly recommended, look at youtube. You can also find guides on how to easily remove bloatware. If you don't like windows 11 after using it for two weeks, start learning How to use Linux. fedora is a good option if you have a decent PC. Dual boot at first so you can have windows as a backup if you break something while learning. When you are confident enough that you don't need windows anymore, You can remove your windows partition, or you can also reinstall the linux distro you were learning. 2.If your PC can't run windows 11 while quacking ltsc is still an option, I don't recommend it. start learning Linux, as I wrote before. Linux mint is good for older PCs that runs slowly on windows.

I have a spare laptop that's CPU ended production in early 2020s and can't run 11. I doubled the RAM for $20 and put Bazzite on it. Runs great. I also have win 10 on the second drive and it's snappy,. Oh I also have Endevor OS on a third, yeah it has 3 drives. Fun thing to play with
