i really want the boxes and the pamphlets inside, as we only have laptops with os preinstalled. The only desktop we had ran xp, but the guy who installed the xp didn't give the box. The pc is now gone dad sold it. This was back in 2009

Indeed Windows Xp was my favorite to after Windows ME. But must didn't like Windows ME, they had more problems with it than Windows 98. But for me Windows ME run fine for a while. But then there was Windows Xp :-) Used that long and even long after Windows Vista and Windows 7 released, i step to Windows 7 because the Directx10, but it was out already for a while. ;-)

I have a windows 98SE PC for retro gaming and for all the issues it has; it's just remarkably snappy and consistent compared to any OS after it. It boots faster on a crummy old hard drive (about 10 seconds after bios) than a windows 10 PC does on an SSD (about 15 seconds after bios) and any modern OS without an SSD will take several minutes to stabilize and become responsive, not windows 98; it's just rearing to go right away. Modern windows is just very bloated, with a few thousand threads that start with the system. Late 90's, early 00's was a magical era for PC gaming. Most of these games you can play using GOG or install with some pains on windows 10 yourself; but it's just not the same without a CRT and a real Aureal A3D 2.0 sound card.

Windows 98 Upgrade Edition is different from Windows 98 Retail/OEM so having a million Windows 98 CDs doesnt matter since Upgrade is different same with Windows 95 but the boxes are nice too look at :)

Great video, how much did you pay for all of them? Also, I loved your windows XP/Vista videos where you go through the development videos, is it possible to do a video series like that on Mac OS and OS X? I think it would make a great video series!

Wich are the differences between the Upgrade version and a normal version? Can I install the OS on an empty machine with the Upgrade version?

You will need to have the full version of the OS to install it on a PC with no OS on it already. The upgrade version can only be used if you have an older version of Windows on the computer.
