Thank you for your explanation on turning/shifting looking forward to part 2. I appreciate how understandable you explain the Wing Chun concepts. Hope to see a video on Wing Chun footwork sometime.

There is a way that someone teaches that lights up the path to enlightenment . You have that way ! I come from a different martial art (Kenpo) but so much of the things you teach can be found in our system. Going back to teaching , one of the first things Shihan Nesta explained to me about movement or turning was to think of the bull fighter and mimic it . Footwork and movement so small so as to keep constant structure and balance . He like you understand the proper mechanics and ways of releasing that information for the student to ponder . Those little pieces of engineering change technique from classical to practical. Then it is up to the student to make it tactical . Some people never experience this 🙏

That's a great way to think of the minor movements while still being in good upright shoulders position to reply.

I largely agree with what you have said in this video, not that you need or seek my affirmation. I’m curious if you will be doing a follow video distinguishing between the Chum Kiu pivot, as outlined in this video, and the Bil Gee pivot?

Your weight distribution is like hollow legs filled with water you adjust the amount of weight distribution change should change like pouring water from one leg to the other based on the angle of the incoming force. structure, Distance and timing. you also seem to misunderstand how the hips function. there are 2 separate joints not one this factor changes the physics because of how they work together to control the center of gravity.

Dom.. I always tune in and I love it.. but think about it right. Are we telling people to go in to a confrontation and press onto somebody? Like a CHI SAO thing? Pressing and pressure and static fixed actions wind up with both guys slipping out. Not only that.. but are we suggesting people get close like that without causing damage already? I’m saying. Let’s frame the turning in an attack not just a move. Guys can get scooped if they rush in on someone bigger? Just lots of readings to pay more attention to THE HIT itself. Not the position, and the energy. All training stuff that might help. But truthfully speaking .. I wanna see you show tools is what I’m getting at? How should we punch? Kick? Attack strategies? Stuff like that.. great instructional on shifting though. That’s the right way like you’re saying. Just opened ideas up ⬆️

Can you point to where we see this turning mastery used successfully in MMA...? Genuine question, but to be fair of one cannot that possess the question: "why not?"
