Winter Overnighter & Men's Mental Health - Show Us Your Steak Challenge

In this video I am taking you on a winter overnighter in the first snow of the year, cooking a vegetarian soy steak (yes, they do exist) and talking about men's mental health in the #showusyoursteak challenge. The idea is to raise some awareness for mental health problems of men and to stimulate others to share their stories, grief and suffering in order to get better. It still surprises me how many other men are suffering from depression, PTSD or other severe traumata. Personally I lost a dear friend who was suffering from depression and committed suicide. It made me realize how little men are heard and how obsolete and ancient perceptions of masculinity push men further into pain and agony. More on that in the video, please watch until the end. Last but not least, I want to share a metaphor with you which I have been told by a Tibetian monk and former mentor of mine - it helped me on my way towards becoming whole, and I am sure it will help you too.

That's a great metaphor. Best to acknowledge thoughts, process them, and then set them aside rather than to try to pretend that they don't exist, which is unnatural and unhealthy. My Opa is from the Netherlands so I'm a big fan of your accent. Great talk.

I highly recommend checking out his products - he sent me these as a present and I just love everything about this "BONES" series. Pretty affordable at some 29 USD but still of high quality bruyere - not like that coated, almost plastic like stuff you get from China or so.
