Most commonly used gauges in wire weaving:
20 gauge & 18 gauge for base wires
28 & 30 gauge for weaving wire (I recommend starting with 28 gauge.)
For wire wrapping:
20 gauge wire (round or square)
20 - 22 gauge half-round wire.
