perhaps because of all the jumping going on in the recent years, their component now weighs heavily on the technical score (together with other tes elements) which is the undeniable "sports-like" stuffing of figure skating, so even the most snobbish and picky audience that would otherwise say this sport lacks characteristics of an actual sport (ugh) now goes aha, uh-huh, okay. also fs has been increasingly turning into quite a thing to observe and, compared to many other sports, it's evolving at a wild pace and there's this constant element of surprise, numerous world records, etc. so panem et circenses, right. also let's just say this current figure skating generation has brought in many new fans - and many new aspiring young skaters - that's for sure. hence, viewers become invested

Don't give Shaun White any ideas he'll want to do that trick, its simple law of physics you have something strapped to your feet which is long and heavy makes you rotate slower than something short and light like ski boot which helps you rotate faster. Bigger higher jumps for snowboarders and skiers will feel like landing on concreate you can only go so high.
@mikhaillastname87196 жыл бұрын
basically, you don't feel like landing on concrete on big air. the proper landing has a steep angle so you are more sliding it then putting yourself to a stop. therefore big kicker might be even smoother for you than small ones that have flatter landing.
@tprobstmeier25056 жыл бұрын

Both you and your brother need to apologise to each other. They are two very different sports, the only real similarities is that they are both on ice. A hockey player can't figure skate, he doesn't have the grace or agility. A figure skater can't take a hit like a hockey player, even with the armor it would probably kill them. Now STFU.

It might be easier if they don’t do back spins on the turn board lmao As an ice skater, even landing a double jump feels like your going super fast. I can’t imagine doing a quad.
@montserrat85192 жыл бұрын
something I notice is that people do back spins when they use a turnboard. I just got one last year and my friends when they try to use it always do backspins.
@magsmccat2 жыл бұрын
@@montserrat8519 2 years later me speaking. That’s a good observation because now that I’m doing backspins I realize a lot of things. I think the reason people who don’t skate are gravitated towards back spins is the the movement of putting your inside leg up already moves you in the correct direction for spinning (unless maybe your left handed). The natural edge you tend to lean on when your inside foot is up curves you the right way compared to front spins. Also in dance you do “back spins” too.

3:05 I disagree with this statement. Boyang Jin started the Quad Race with his Quad Lutz in 2015 and the first man ever to land four quads in a program at the 2016 Four Continents Championships.
@RaymondHng6 жыл бұрын
He said _five_ quads in one program, not four. At the 2016 Four Continents Championships, Jin landed a quad lutz, quad salchow, and two quad toe loops in his free skate, becoming the first skater to land three kinds of quads in a single program.
