It is practically a RWPro without timecode, which is fine for a regular user. I'm a professional and an ex WGII and a WPro user and I'm glad to see all this in this new device, that means the next pro is going to be even better! For me, I only ask for 2 things to make my work even easier: - A dedicated headphone output, so I can monitor the audio directly from the receiver while I keep the receiver sending the timecode and backup audio signal to the camera. - A way to sync timecode on two or more receivers or have a dedicated device just for timecode in a multicamera environment. Usually I record every interview with two cameras and I have 2 pair of RWPro, but they are not completly in sync. Thanks RODE!
@CNCTurboStep29 күн бұрын
RODE teased in an earlier FAQ that they were working on synching the timecode of the RWPro to external devices. This has obviously not happened. They can't even sync properly to a phone (error of 1-2 seconds compared to the phone clock). Come on Rode, you can do better than this! I for one won't be investing in any Pro2 just to get a properly working timecode sync.

@@masterinico For more prosumer/semi-professional use, Rode has the Wireless Pro. It's black and has a locking mic connector for a lav - more professional shoots would typically use a lav rather than any sort of clip-on transmitter. For more casual users - which is who this non-Pro range is aimed at - it's completely different. Some content creators fully embrace the mic, holding it in their hand and talking into it. With this sort of more more casual content, sticking a little box on a shirt isn't a big deal; some users like themeing their sets or clothing so might pick a mic that's coloured to their theme. It's great that RODE gives us choice. Content creators who need a more professional look can get the Pro model, those who are more casual can get the black non-pro model, or pick a colour based on their theme.

This color is so Tom Buck😂 It’s always happyto see RODE announc new product, but i think RODE’s gonna need to do more in order to impress users while competing with DJI or Hollyland. There are many cool new features indeed, but most of them aren’t the first thing people really care about. The most important thing you need to consider is the SIZE, BATTERY LIFE and the BIG LOGO. People are trying to hide the mic while using them, and most times they also not even willing to use Lav mics while using wireless mics. Most users who buy these kind of products just need “simplicity” and “low profile”. Oh and I personally would like to see RODE enable the USB-C capabilities between these Wireless series with RodeCaster Pro II, that would be awesome.

@JJohnson313Ай бұрын
So make more batteries? Wouldn’t replaceable batteries create more waste ?
@nickgloverАй бұрын
What? If the batteries in these die (permanently, which they will eventually), you have to replace the entire unit. If instead the batteries were replaceable, you replace only the battery. Either way they would be producing batteries, but the overall waste is less.
@JJohnson313Ай бұрын
I still have the original Rode Wireless units, and their batteries are still working. If I had replaceable batteries, I would have bought multiple ones and would have them lying around, probably losing some along the way, which would create more waste than if I had used the rechargeable batteries. I understand your point, but it doesn’t work in the way you think. Making them replaceable doesn’t necessarily make them better; it could even make them worse, depending on the user.

with this basically becoming the Rode Pro - my guess is they will be putting a new Rode Pro out? Seriously what is the difference at this point? Locking connector - Gain assist - 32bit float - charging case - am I missing something? What is PRO about the PRO now?

The Wireless PRO will come with timecode functionality as well as a vast range of accessories 😊

For 20 $ more i become the pro with timecode, charging case and 2 great lav mics - why should I buy the Go 3? The only thing I can imagine is that there will soon be an improved but more expensive Pro version to replace the old one. This could make the old Pro a good bargain and alternative to the new Go 3 while it is still available.

@@rodemic The Wireless PRO 'WILL' come?? Are you hinting about a new product? What about fixing timecode sync from external sources, at least with accurate sync from a phone, on the current Pro version first?

Interesting that she is not using those mics in the video

Had the Go II. Nice piece of kit, but the receiver stopped working after little over 2 years. Wasted hours trying to figure it out with some online Røde guy. Single pieces apparently not available for sales. Now I have 3 pieces of expensive plastic junk in my drawer. Nope, not buying another set.
