Great job. I haven't wired up any lights in 20 years and was a little fuzzy. Once I saw what you were doing, it all clicked and came back. Thanks.

Before any crease or ran through anything is where you want the fuse closer to the battery the better

Add a circuit device for your 12v would have saved u alot of time. No add a fuse needed and you wouldn't have to run positive to battery. Check them out. Best thing I ever found. Lol

You should add a relay and not rely on the switch it self. Only one fuse off the battery is a bad idea. Please if anyone follows this, follow the guides for using a relay switch, with additional fuses

Thanks for saying this I ended up doing it the right way with a relay in the engine bay

I ended up routing power from the alternator positive line through a fuse link to a relay and then from the relay to a toggle switch .

Thanks for the how-to. By the way, define "too cold"? Up north here, it's hovering at 23F and it had warmed up to work on my truck outside! lol Perspective is everrything. Good video.

Your doing great. I think I was sub #4 let’s try to get you 1 million. And yes it’s a good looking money pit.

WOW! Thank you that means a lot! a million is a dream! I appreciate that I think it's a good money pit as well hahaha

We chatted about rhino liner on the bottom of trucks. Your video helped.

Chris Vandersloot that video is probably my most hated video so I’m glad you enjoyed it!

great video. I would have like to seen how you attached it to the lights. You said 'pod', I don't know what that is. I'm going to hook up my snow plow lights to a toggle switch and have been researching how to actually wire the headlight.
@ryanm839 Жыл бұрын
Context should tell you that the “pods” are the lights. I do agree he should have been more clear

Ideally a relay should be added. Not a good idea running current directly from the battery albeit the fuse
@yep5689 Жыл бұрын
It’s not a bad ideas but won’t harm anything as long as you use a fuse I mean I have had my amp on a fuse link for years never had a single problem with it but I also ran it through the firewall and through the dash correctly so there’s that as well

After you did the job on your headlights did u have to change any seal or put some glue or else ?? Everybody post video on how to open them and noone shows you how to close them up again Lol
@joeydrumstix3 жыл бұрын
Have you had any problems just having the fusible link running directly from the battery to the toggle switch? What size fuse did you use? I have a 30 amp toggle switch and this is my first time trying to wire anything up I want to make sure I do it correctly
@brycejohnson76554 жыл бұрын
The video was so helpful, i do have a question though. What gauge wire did you use?

Can reg halogen headlights be run the same way? Or would I need a relay and why?
@hoytherbst49792 жыл бұрын
Why doesn't anybody show how to wire the switch? My light bar has 3 wires coming from relay to switch. A white, black and blue white is positive, so when I connect it to switch why are other 2terminals hot? When I connect the black wire, things start burning. So wheredoes black wire go?

I’ve got one of these installed on my Jeep. Do I need to remove the console to get the switch out to change wiring? Or can I pry the switch out?
@slurpeeslurpee693 жыл бұрын
You can pry it out if it’s not connected to anything
@jamesacker73434 жыл бұрын
Your switch is upside down. Up is usually on and down is off.
@jonwayne71454 жыл бұрын
Does the switch get warm. Or is there a relay
@BrandonClark5634 жыл бұрын
Jon Wayne switch doesn’t get warm and I just have an in-line fuse ran
@ryanm839 Жыл бұрын
Just a heads up, the 12v and dc aren’t marking the terminals.. that is a marking saying that it’s a 20amp switch for a 12v DC system.
