I have been following mufat for a while and have even requested one of his tasses to be done. He puts effort into everything and his runs are insanity. Personally though I think his D07 race tas is almost as good as this.

@@RubyPiec nope, in most cases turning mid-air doesn't affect anything at all, you can test it yourself on a press forward map if you have tmnf, tho it will affect the outcome of the run if you counter steer while rotating in the air. And even when it affects the outcome, if it's in the bruteforce that means that it might have given a slightly better landing or setup to a next trick

It's cheating if you submit the score to leaderboards since it violates competitive integrity. TAS runs are used to gauge the upper bound of "what can be done, if human/input limits are surpassed", and are not submitted to compete against purely human-performed runs.

TAS isn't hacking. TAS speedruns and human-analog runs are separate categories.

Because that's exactly what it is - it's people coming together, using external tools such as slowdown and frame by frame inputs, to craft as close to perfect play as we know for other people's entertainment. It isn't meant to be compared to the work that humans put in to set records because it's not under the same conditions - a TASer has full control over the run's inputs at all times, can go back to tweak certain sections, brute force some things to be as optimal as possible. It's a question of what is possible according to the game's mechanics rather than according to human hands. The reason why it's not "cheating" is because TASing is not a competition and is not comparable with human runs. Hope this helps!

it was just a nosebug. noseboosts need the car to have min. 391 speed and have multiple nosebugs (why the car does a little vibration kind of thing during the boost), whilst this was just a single nosebug
