I really like Mingtong Gu. I had to take a step back and realize that I don't speak more than one language fluently. I admire anyone who does. It used to bother me that he pronounced sensation as sen-sa-shing and emotion as emo-shing. But I realized I am in no place at all to judge. It's my bias. My problem. I now reason that who cares how he pronounces things, just as long as he gets the point across. He's a great guy. More power to him.

Master Mingtong is an excellent teacher. He's been one of my absolute favorites! As you said, pronunciation shouldn't matter if you understand the intention. I'm sure my pronunciation in Chinese would be far worse than any that I've heard from Mingtong :)

I had a problem with his laughter, it seems nervous, but as you say he is a good guy and what he teaches is deep and powerful, - we should not judge people by appearances.

He got a masters in mathematics then in art. He moved to the US not knowing any English and has accomplished more than those of us who grew up speaking it.
