huh me/ he is always pretty nice and reasonable to Geralt and even seems to try and gain his friendship, eg with the racing and if you chat to him outside the embassy later. Also replacing NG+ Deathmarch and found out you can meet him at the Masquerade party during the Triss quest “A matter of life and death” where he’ll be wearing a lion mask You can either hide your identity (dunno about that result) Or say hi to him at which point he’ll recognise you and say hi and be very friendly. He’s even very friendly to Triss, although he doesn’t know who she is nor finds out, and he says he hopes to see geralt at the end of the party All though he is very camp, and I don’t know how he is as a general, he seems incredibly nice and reasonable, especially compared to every other high born person you meet other than probably Henrietta in B&W.

A lot of people reference the treatment of the Vineyard owner who sold the Duchal wine as proof she’s vicious, but if you consider the context of medieval-renaissance ethics, as well as the fact he has essentially sold a sacred tradition and access to the duchal family for money-after she personally lifted him out of poverty-I think it’s understandable Also when she takes Shanna to Beauclair ignoring detlaff’s demands., I think the context of that scene matters. She’s basically discovered her long lost sister hates her and murdered brutally 3-4 people, and that a huge amount of information was hidden from her, in particular that geralt and Regis left her alone with Detlaff: a highly dangerous, unstable vampire who murdered her courtiers Not to mention that almost everyone she talks to at that part of that quest is secretly a vampire lol For me she’s more of a bitch for just wanting to forgive and help Syanna as much as possible , though syanna’s crimes are understandable, whilst fucking over a bunch of other people

O'Dimm, is such a misunderstood character. I think his moniker ''Master Mirror'' means much more than we think it means. He is the incarnation of evil, yes, but he's only as evil and ill-intended as the parties with which he makes a pact. Geralt is of pure heart, he makes a deal with O'Dimm, and at no point in time (be it during the time which you're helping him and after you fulfill your end of the bargain) does he have any ill intentions towards Geralt. He asked one thing of him if you recall: Honesty. Geralt did just that, and so O'Dimm reflected that honesty onto him once the ''pact'' was done and dealt with. Paying attention to the most MINUTE of details can often surprise you in the end ;)

In the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt she saves a small girl from the Forest who was attacked by wolves. The girl says " Wow, you're brave! My father couldn't even do that." To which Ciri responds "Mine could do a lot more." Than she makes beast oil to slay a werewolf because she lacks silver sword and the girl again asks "Did your Father teach you that aswell?" To which Ciri responds "No, not my father. My uncle. Uncle Vesemir." And as we know at Kaer Morhen, Geralt taught her to fight while Vesemir taught her the knowledge of the Witchering trade.

If you're talking about the netflix show, it's vastly different than the one in the books. In the books, after Geralt saved Emyr, Emyr insisted that Geralt get a reward, like the show, but unlike the show where he just wants to express his gratitude, he do that because he tought that Geralt would keep asking for favors later on for saving his life, he just wants to settle that right here, right now. Geralt got kinda pissed off about that and he knew that Pavetta was pregnant but Emyr didn't know, so Geralt claimed the law of surprise , knowing that it will allow him to have his unborn child, out of spite.

I chose this one on my first playthrough. I wanted to make her go there because she should get to meet her actual father, even if he's a prick. I refused the money because geralt would never have taken it (I may have, but if this was reality and she was like my daughter I wouldn't have given a shit about the money). I also love how cute it is when she reaches her hand over to geralts and squeezes it, made me feel warm inside.

I like that even Emyr tries to emphasize MY daughter. Ciri knows that even though Geralt isn’t blood he’s really the father she needed. Also, I love the “you’ll never have to work again” part and get 2k gold. It’s a nice little jab at how out of touch the rulers are and how little of the world they actually know.

I'm really conflicted about the Ciri empress ending, a lot seem to think its also one of the "bad" endings,, but i'm not so sure Considering her resilience, and the skills she learned from not only Geralt, but also Vesemir, Lambert and Eskel, can you just imagine the changes she can make to Nilfgaard? Witcher ending, straightforwardly upbeat, clearly "good", Ciri presumed dead is clearly "bad" for both, but Empress could be seen in a very gray light, and I've always loved outcomes where you can't decide if its good or bad.

Making her sit still on a golden throne, surrounded by a venomenous court that will probably try to manipulate her every step of the way seemed like she‘d end up slowly dying inside

honestly I don't know why people think it's bittersweet ending for Ciri to be queen. Think about it; do you really want your daughter to follow in your footsteps...and work probably the most dangerous job in the world with no real benefits and the notion of yeah I saved some folks and I get by or would you rather her be a queen who can save many, many more and be well of....? Just an honest guy ranting and think of the political side of it all. If she's queen not only does nilfguard have a good relation with tamarria (if you played the witcher 2 and Anies is alive; for a whole generation there would be peace), and if Ceris is queen of Skailiga there wouldn't be raids because of her relationship with Geralt and Ciri, plus in nilfguard there's not much if any racism since the speak elven and have elves in there upper level of society. Meh....va faill....

XblacklightZ I think its bitter sweet because of their relationship, and their paths. She goes on to become a powerful leader, and the man who helped raise her the best he could, went looking for her and was a father to her in all but blood and name has to work like a slave to survive in a world that hates him. Making her into a witcher isn't exactly a great thing, but if you don't know the ending, and if you listen to the nilfgaarden general when you take her to vizimir, you would think she would be treated like crap.Also nilfgaarden politics is deadly, since the trade group is out to get emphyr, and if he losses the war he is murdered, so her being next isn't exactly out of the question. The problem with her being leader, for me, is that its easy to make new ways and laws, its easier for the next ruler to tear them down and revert to pre-ciri ways. I think most people see this as bitter sweet because you go through ALL the effort to find her and try to keep her away from being used as a pawn in nilfgaard, and she leaves. Your right in saying she will be safe, but their connection is deep, so its ahrd for geralt to take

And in terms of the politics Ciri would have the upper hand in those things cause she has ties with Cyris, Roach and Tris and in all likely hood the trade cooperation maybe swayed do to these connections (that's 3 major countries he has friendly ties too) and in that ending it says she was a gifted politician....it would be a vary good out come...at least in game of thrones style....for at least 1 maybe 3-4 generations....

XblacklightZ There are few moments ingame when Ciri, herself, says what she would like to do with her life. After Wild Hunt (and White Frost) are dealt with. Even in 'Empress Ending' there are moments when Ciri sounds unhappy with the choice.

Not sure if anyone's thought of this, but when Geralt says to Ciri "Cause this could be your last chance to see your father." There are two sides to that statement. If Ciri went to see Emhyr and either agreed or disagreed to become empress, it would have been her last chance to see either Emhyr, or Geralt; her true father.

Honestly, this scene reinforces to me just how well done Emhyr is as a character. One of those beautifully done shades of grey characters in the series. Yes, he has done incredibly questionable things (like the whole 'Ciri is having my daughter' nonsense), but in the end.....he is honest and honorable, keeping his word. More so than anyone else in the series save Geralt. Not just Emhyr either, but honestly all the characters in the series (books and games) are just fantastic. Letho, for instance. I let him live in Witcher 2 because of his history with Geralt and it paid off. Cannot wait for more from this series.

I know the comment is 2 years old, but... Emhyr is a typical careerist prick who will do anything necessary to write his own name in the annals of history in big letters. Cunning, mischievous and a control freak. Wouldnt' be fooled by his apparent care for his daughter. He only cares about the empire's future so that it doesn't go to ruin immediately after his conquering of the continent. He is sure very smart and calculated, but would sell anybody out for a sack of potatoes if it fed his ego in some way.

Jumping on the "old comment wagon" but... You're half right. Half wrong. He isn't quite as egotistic in the sense you're going for. He did want Ciri so that his dynasty could be the one that saves the world from the White Frost. That's the ego part - he knew Lara Dorren's prodigal child (at that time assumed to either be Ciri's child or grandchild) would save the world - and so that's how he intended to use her to ensure Nilfgaard was at the center of world politics by cementing its ruler as the literal savior of the world. But that's about where his "sell anybody out" instinct ends. Beyond that, he's a cunning and malicious deal maker who has been wronged, been cheated, shown humility, and actually learned from it. Vilgefortz is one good example; Geralt is another. Its how he survived as long as he did and reclaimed his father's throne after being cast out as Urcheon. He truly is honest and keeps his word, as OP says. I was legitimately shocked when he let Ciri go free with Geralt and Yennefer in Lady of the Lake. He had absolutely no reason to, no reason at all, except that he owed Geralt a debt and Geralt and Yenn's sincere love for Ciri gave him a sliver of his humanity back.
