I recently had the chance to visit France! There I roamed the bustling Paris flea markets in search of vintage home decor and explored the Provence region in the south of France. In today’s episode, I wanted to share how taking a trip, big or small, can have an impact on your life and get your creative juices flowing. I came back from that trip feeling so inspired and with a new perspective on design.

The ad-breaks are too long and frequent for me to enjoy the podcast. I wouldn't mind a 30-60 sec ad-read in the beginning and/or middle but 3min every 10th minute is too much and distracts me from what you're talking about too much, it feels like you're cut off mid sentence sometimes.

Unfortunately I have to agree... this episode was 33 minutes long and had ~10 minutes of ads. so 1/3 of the podcast was an ad. Of course, I understand needing to be paid, but would love if there was some cue/signal that the ad was about to start and not be in the middle of a thought

@@lollipops4ever123 totally! I like the free flowing talking style of the podcast but it doesn't blend well with abrupt ad breaks. Maybe if the subjects were more structured it'd work but as it is now it just makes me lose interest.

I love that when you talked about how people do things differently in other cultures you didn't sound as if other cultures were inferior. You simply acknowledged and respected the differences. I wish more people were like that. 😂 Oh and I'm totally gonna redo my bathroom floor like yours! Love your content as always!

You seem to have mastered the art of making your own cabinetry, and you are about to embark on the journey of retrofitting your bathroom cabinet. I would enjoy a podcast about making and changing cabinetry. Different than what you have already shared in your videos. Step by step layout or something. I have an “under the stairs” idea and I am continually inspired by your, everything!

You can definitely plan your own trip especially in Europe. Day tours are a nice way see sights but you should make it your own. For instance if you adore wine culture, you can plan your travel around wine region.

Hello MaCenna. Your video clips of France were very much appreciated. Thanks to your visits at the antique markets, i seen so many beautiful things. Thank you for sharing. ...... ...... Now for a question of concern. Have you heard the latest news about Paris? The country, mainly the city, is dealing with a very bad bedbug infestation. It is a huge crisis that has France worried about their hosting of the 2024 Olympics. It is bad because the bugs have invaded the trains, subway, hotels, buses, and more. Is everything well with you , your mom and Romeo.....they would travel back with you via clothes. I am guessing everything is ok, or you would have mentioned a problem.

To boost creativity or to just get my mind out of a mental rut. I go for long drives. I set the destination on Google maps to avoid any unknowns( they like to hide speed cameras etc in the Uk after suddenly alerting the speed limit suddenly with limited signage) and just glace over at the maps occasionally on my dashboard but just drive and my mind begins to decompress and then I come up with all sorts of ideas. Pity there is no way to capture some of those gems easily while driving 😂 mostly I do country drives or motorway. Scotland is beautiful to drive through, you see the lovely stone walls and all the sheep. It’s refreshing and I almost always come back felling better. The best time is in summer when the sun sets at 23:00 and the roads are clear but you have pink huge skies. Words cannot describe the tranquility.

Girl, I feel you on the full cup and inspired action from LIFE! It's a blend of the shifting seasons inspiring me & also I've been attending a local art competition in my town for the last 3 weeks! It makes me want to incorporate visiting more local art galleries & museums once the competition ends! Overall, just way better life balance being present in the moment vs overthinking and always feeling like I need to be working (aka forcing).. I noticed i'm wearing more fun & vibrant outfits, i'm excited about not only my work, but also cooking & baking new dishes, decorating my home, holiday decorating, switching up my sacred meditation spaces, reaching out to friends & fam more. All the things ✨️💟🤌🏻

What means westernized homes? France is a part of the Western world and not all the buildings are old in France. Also English is mandatory in high schools in France, so if people were not understanding your English, probably it’s because they didn’t want to do any effort or maybe they were very bad at learning English.

I’m a designer from north part of Europe and have traveled in Europe, but married American and now live in the states. Being here has definitely given me so much inspiration for home decor. It feels exiting to travel in US and see the national parks, desserts and big cities. I hope Americans don’t think they have to go to Europe to find inspiration or that things are better there. It’s amazing to travel but you have lot to see here too ❤

I noticed your nail color today. In France the French only wear colors of red. Funny the French manicure we have here isn’t even French. I lived in provence for 1 yr. Actually I was staying at my cousins flat which was in the center of Provence and he was on the top floor amazing. One side of the building was the mountains and then you go to the other side and we saw the ocean. I stayed in Nice because my cousin had a sailboat which I stayed in. I was hoping so badly I could’ve contacted you before you went because my sister-in-law owns a art gallery in Provence and she’s an artist I was going to try to hook you up with something you loved

I think you are confusing Provence with Province. Provence is a region of France (where Aix en Provence is situated) , Province is everything in France that is not Paris. Provincial comes from Province (i.e. not Paris) and is a derogatory word, best avoided when in France 😬 If you go back to France, try the Grande Braderie de Lille in September - the biggest flea market in France

When you were talking about driving the same route then one day you don't remember anything about the drive but find yourself at work, it is call highway hypnosis. The best way to avoid this is include something that will keep your attention in the here and now, don't use Cruise control, Change up the types of music you listen to, change the route you take to work, bring someone along to talk to if you can, just a FYI.

Travelling allows people to see how people live and not what the TV tells them or media wants to paint a picture about certain countries. I grew up in Tanzania East Africa till I was 21 yrs old, moved to Canada to study. Here are the questions: do you have indoor toilets or outdoor outhouses shocked 😳 Did you study in classrooms or under a tree outside 😳 What? You know what cling film is? So when did you learn English ? It’s better than my English and you’ve only been her a couple yrs right? 🫨 And there’s more banking , commerce, money, investments, fashion, it just goes on food like how do you know how to bake, pastries, wine, just wow. It really goes to show you how the media in one country down plays lives of people in other countries. Now my boss so I though was travelled so I though, he was wondering if my degree was compatible with Canada, till I told him well yes it would be, but don’t worry both my degrees are from Canada. Racist pig!! Loren Perrier you pig I hope you read this!!!!

Nothing like it is here in the states, but it was colder than tea or water! And I remember when I landed back in the US my parents picked me up and they wanted to know where I wanted to go and we went to my favorite Mexican food restaurant and the first thing I ordered was iced tea with extra ice and can I get an extra glass of ice please and my big brother that had been to Germany station there like two tours just laughed at me because he knew exactly why I was asking for ice lol so right there with your mother!❤️❤️
