She did star in the cult classic horror film "Rabid" (1977), which at the time caused a fair bit of trouble for writer-director David Cronenberg. He struck to his guns in wanting her to be the lead in the film, and numerous times has said she was both very professional as well as very hard-working.

I was working at Tower Records in the mid 80s and Marilyn came in. At that time she was living up on Mount Charleston. She was wearing a fur coat and a skirt as it was winter but she was topless under the coat. She seemed really cool. I think she died from a brain hemorrhage way too young.
