Went to South Africa for the first time for the World Cup with my dad in 2010 when I was 14, the entire experience was amazing and birthed my love for Africa and it's people. I've been back to the country 3 times since and enjoyed every time. Yes the country has it's problems with racism, corruption, and development, like any other country, but my God South Africans are so beyond blessed I can't wait to bring my future children there. God bless South Africa.

@hlangananichauke3364

That statement also bothers me..because from my understanding, only Ethiopia wasn't colonized.. So every other country was developed by colonisers. Every country that is free of colonisers should be improving from where the colonisers left off.. And actually show the world that Africans are more than capable of developing their countries.. We should be looking at other African countries and seeing black excellence... Because i genuinely believe we as Africans are also capable.. So them saying colonisers this colonisers that.. Is worrying.. There's something people are also refusing to give credit to.. As much as we complain about our government, Our black government has done a lot to improve the infrastructure and maintain it.. State owned entities like SANRAL are mandated to mantain and build road infrastructure.. A lot has been done since 1994 although we still feel they should do more

Gautrain , those stadiums , Mall of Africa amongst alot of things were built post aparthied..jokes keep writing themselves plus alot of Africans who are non-South African are envious of this democracy we fought for ...their home countries do not permit free speech , LGBTQ+ rights ect ...so they tend to try and credit the white men for our efforts.

The same African you are talking down to are the ones who freed you from apartheid. Your country is not as wonderful as you might think it is. For a start, as a black South African, you own almost none of the wealth of the country. All the Africans you see here, can if push comes to shove, pack their bags, leave the city and return to their ancestral village and farm. In South Africa, you do not have an ancestral village to return to. If you do not have a job in the factory of a white man, you destined to die in an illegal shack in the ironically named Gugulethu

@Unathi Ngunuza I know your story better than you know it. I heard it first hand from your leaders in exile, whom I knew personally. You do not have the most beautiful villages in Africa. I have seen the mountain side dwellings you have KZN, and barren, treeless plains of Eastern Cape. You might want to travel up north to see what a real Africa village endowed with might rivers, wildlife and fertile land looks like. You black South Africans are poorer than the average black Africans in real terms. And no, the people who died for your freedom were the Angolans. Zambians, Mozambicans and Namibians also died for you. Do not ever forget that

South African people are very welcoming, the spirit of UBUNTU is inherent in us and the word "UBUNTU" itself is derived from one of the South African languages called ISIXHOSA, the Xhosa people are predominantly based in the Eastern Cape and next time when you visit South Africa don't hesitate to visit the Eastern Cape as it also prides itself with beautiful infrastructure, coastal line and beautiful people.
@mambelelembambe4255

uBuntu is not derived from anyone language. It is a generic Bantu expression which means humanness, which in itself is manifestation of the mentality that is ingrained in Africans. In Zambia for example, the first president of that country called the national philosophy of the country humanism for the 27 years he was in power, almost all of which coincided with Nelson Mandela's incarceration.

@@extravagant1413 You are wrong and uninformed. I doubt that you can be a Muntu person. I doubt that you are even an African. I speak several Bantu languages spanning from Lingala in the DRC to SiSotho in South Africa. The Bantu languages are NOT similar, they are the same. They have the same skeletal structure, and they are built up according to the same modification of nouns by pre and post fixing; and largely share the same nouns, subject to regional phonetic variations. A Xhosa person, from the most southerly part of South Africa can go to Uganda among the BaGanda or BaTooro, and understand 40% of the language immediately; the reverse is also true. There is only one Bantu language, and it has about 500- 600 derivative dialects spanning Cameroon/Central African Republic/ South Sudan to South Africa, and Angola to Tanzania. The word "U-Bu-Ntu" =derives from the modification of the noun "-ntu", which means object. However, when you prefix it with a modifier that starts with "b", you allude to a living person or people, as in "Ba-Ntu"; When "Bu" is the prefix, you are referring to the condition of people. In this case you are implying behavioural attributes. However, this prefix could also be denotive of the place where those people live, and for this case BoTswana or Bu-Rundi supplies the example as they are denotive of the "place of the Tswana people" or "place of the Rundi" respectively; However, in keeping with Nguni and other Indian ocean Bantu, you can lop off the B and say "U-Ganda" as in a phonetic variation of "Bu-Ganda" and still mean "place of the Ganda". U-Bu-ntu, in every Bantu language from the most southerly Xhosa, to the most northerly Tooro in Uganda, translates into the same thing "Humanness". It is NOT a Xhosa word. It is a Bantu word. Where the variance and richness of Bantu languages are concerned, South Africa provides a limited sample space. All told, there are 35 languages in the country, of about 61 million people. In Zambia, there 73 languages among 17 million people, of which 72 are Bantu. In the DRC, there 250 languages, with more than 220 being Bantu among more 80 million Bantu people. In terms of richness and variety of culture, South Africa has less, when compared to such deep Bantu countries like Angola, Zambia, Malawi or DRC.
