After posting my last post I had another thought.. breaks. The brakes that came on my bike were so bad I really couldn't stop myself from going down a steep incline coming into perpendicular traffic.. it was an interesting moment! I had very cheap wired pool brakes originally. After my near calamity, I found an interesting hydraulic brake for these bikes. They've moved the caliper from The Handlebar which is normally how I have it on my mountain bike, making me very spoiled with my one-finger stopping power, down too the actual brake and the brake pads by the disc. It's only like a $20 piece, but it makes the pull break, into a hydraulic brake on an e-bike! I also noticed, that the height of the brake was so high it was only catching about half of the pad on the hundred 60 mm rotor. I removed all of the lifters from the break such that it's mounted to the frame, mounted basically directed to the spot on the frame. It lines up perfectly and now the brake pad is fully on the disc. Not sure if anybody else will have this problem, just wanted to put it out there that the hydraulic conversion exists very cheap, and to make sure your pad is completely on the rotor.

I got the UK spec. M1 with the 250W motor. That harsh power kick-in is definitely not for stop/start/slow speeds. I changed the fork for a Bolani 26" x 4" wide air fork, and a riser stem to replace the folding stem and wider riser handle bar. Raised the handle bar by at least 150mm to a slack angle of 67 degrees. The air fork was half the weight of the original coil fork!

There is a small 6mm hole for fenders/mud guards under the rear suspension. Fitting the rear buy those plastic wide ones they’re cheap enough. Cut off the part on the rear mud guard that clamps to the seat post drill a 6mm hole in the plastic piece that’s left and simply bolt it on.
@sebastianhugely7035 Жыл бұрын
Get the thumb acceleration model they’re allowed more places swap that tourney derailleur it bends and will cut the rear wheel in half I changed to the Altus nice smooth. They’d be better if the motor was regeneration and some sort of torque monitor as it helps even going down hill

That’s an impressive folding e-bike. I’m curious to see what the top speed is when you unlock it. You should mount a Bluetooth speaker on the handlebar and play sounds from a Harley idling when you’re in traffic! That will get some heads to turn!

You should just remove the throttle, one allen key and and single connector, that way you can take it on the cats meow for the test loop! Also "LOCO Scooters" on youtube has a video on unlocking the Fiido M1 Pro, it's only 43 seconds long and looks easy enough, if that doesn't work a lot of the time with ebikes if you hold down the 2 buttons for a few seconds you can get into the menu on the display. Edit: I also definitely recommend the display unlock, the display caps out right now at 25 kph even though you are going way faster than that, unlock it so it will show the true speed.

If you remember, in your video about front forks, I asked if you had done any reviews for front suspension forks for e-bikes. Is this the first ebike that you've had to ride? I have a question but first let me give you some comparison numbers. I have a speedrid 26 X 4 with a 48 volt 500 watt motor. My controller is different than yours, it tells you distance and average speed and such, and I change my tire size from 26 inch to the wheel diameter available, resulting in a maximum speed of 25 mph; that maximum however I can increase by lowering and flattening myself to reduce my frontal when resistance. If I tuck down like I would on a road bike, I have reached 29 mph. Going on a slight decline, I have maximized at 30 to reach 31 miles per hour I think, that being the maximum speed I was able to get on this bicycle. And that's what the same battery and motor size you have on your test bike. Your bike should be lighter matter of fact, I don't know what the wheel diameter is on your bike mine's 26 in, other than that it seems pretty similar in specs. From your video You're maxing out at like 13 or 15 mph? Significantly less than I am on my bike with the same general motor and battery. So that's that. Now I want to return to my previous question from the other video about front forks, about ebike in particular front forks. The suspension on this bike you have seems to work fine. The suspension on the bike I have bottomed out the first day I had it and basically bottoms out every time I ride it. So I am about to buy a front fork, and now with this new e-box exposure that you have, any chance I can get you to do a video on ebike front forks with 4-in tires? Now that I say that.. you probably have to either purchase, or somebody sends you, the forks you have reviewed? Not sure if that would make a review for these specific kinds of forks beyond your budget? Looking forward to your second video and to see if you can match or surpass the speeds I have on my bike... one last I thought, I read in aerodynamics somewhere for bicycles that a proper type fitting Fender improves aerodynamics. Beyond keeping you clean. If true, perhaps the extra rattling noise is worth it?

Hey brother, I have ridden atleast 7 ebikes lol. Now not one has had an upgraded fork YET!! 🙄 But it is coming, now I am glad you noticed the spd, it seemed like I was going not nearly fast as this thing said it was!!

Ah the sounds and looks of a stock M1 Pro. Been a year since I had mine for the 1st time. It has changed so much now, not even a hub drive anymore and I call it the M1 Pro Plus. I've had the M1 pro with the 1st Gen display with Odometer. I have some few advice on how the M1 pro works but there could be some difference since you have the 2nd Gen. Whether locked or unlocked, pedal assist will max out depends on level. Pedal Assist 1 at 17kph, 2 at 21kph and 3 at 25kph. Unlocking the bike only increases the throttle speed for me from 25kph to 48-50kph. Since you have a quiet motor, yours will be 48kph as it looks like you have the helical planetary gears on your hub motor. Gen 2 displays MAY or MAY NOT show you going above 25kph even if you are unlocked and passed the limiter speed. I've seen conflicting results in the Fiido FB groups I'm in. You can remove the throttle and bring it to Cat's Meow. I bring mine to trails that even hardtails have a hard time on. Just be careful as the wirings are a pain when you open the compartment up. For rear lights, I use a rechargable Rockbros rear light that senses if you are slowing down or stopping.

Man, yours sounds like a blast, thanks for the advice and we will do a few of these for sure!!

@michaelsprinzeles40222 жыл бұрын
You're taking it too easy on that bike for a realtime review. If the throttle is the only thing keeping it off the trails, disconnect or remove it! No connection to a throttle shouldn't hamper anything but the throttle. With 500 watts, no throttle and limited to under 32 kph (20 mph) that bike is legal almost anywhere a bicycle is unless expressly prohibited. To be fair the bike isn't intended for serious off road. That suspension & fat tires should smooth out potholes very nicely though. I'll bet it has way more speed in it. Unlock it and I'd bet it hits 28 mph (on flats). Always look forward to your next videos.
@EBikeBuilder_2 жыл бұрын
Agreed take the throttle off if that’s going to mean you can’t ride a spot. If its a 500 or 750 watt hub motor its not like you’re going crazy on it
