Definitely one of the greatest running backs Michigan has ever had. He even shared the backfield with another great Tyrone Wheatley a couple of years. Two of the greatest ever in Michigan football!

I was at his debut game against Houston. If you never saw him play live you have no idea how the TV never did his talents justice. A quick and shifty back with speed to burn who wasn't afraid to put his shoulders down.

I was at the big house when he made his debut. The confusion on everyone's face and in the air was priceless when the PA announcer called his name. You knew he was greatness from day one.

Man, if I were an announcer, I would take every chance I could to say Biakabatuka's name. Rolls off the tongue so nicely.

What an amazing runner. I know Michigan has had some great runners over the years but I don't know if anyone was better than Biakabatuka. He was better than Wheatley in 94' and then had that historic 95' campaign. I just don't get why Michigan people don't rate him as highly as guys like A-Train or Wheatley.
@aPeXaSsHoLe5 жыл бұрын
Overall top speed he had big plays but not many homerun plays that went the distance! He was good but I'd rate him still behind Thomas and Wheatley and just ahead of Mike Hart!
@DetroitMuscle5 жыл бұрын
He just lacked the flash and signature plays. Wheatley had classic kick returns and highlight long runs. Tim was just a stomp down nonstop workhorse. I don't think he was ever BETTER than Ty Wheatley, but he was the kind of back whose value was tremendous a field position and time management back. He could make a not so good team very good.

I think you can put Hassan Haskins on that list now. 5 TD's vs. Ohio. Not bad.

Don’t like comparing players but he was a mix of Peterson, Barry Sanders. Maybe early version of Barkley

Wow. I really miss Kieth Jackson. Greatest cf announcer of all time. "Whoah Nellie!" Biakabutuka is one of my all time favs. When he carried the entire smelly D of blowhio stain *uckeyes 40 yards down field, that was pure Michigan

He had big shoes to fill after Wheatley, but I think he did admirably.

What I loved about Tim... 1) My Favorite Number 2) What he did against OSU (huge part was what the line did) 3) Downhill runner 4) Legs never stopped

I still rememeber the first game he really came onto the scene in my mind. It was a Game at Minnesota in 1993 and I was like, "this guy is really good!" I had never heard of him until that point.
@gabeswitala2292 Жыл бұрын
I saw him doing mop up in garbage time against Houston his freshman year. It was clear to me from his first carry we had greatness on our hands. He was one of those special athletes that if you never saw him play live then you just don't know how good he really was.

Only Wolverine RB I like more is Tyrone Wheatley. Chris, Mike, and A-Train are great but what Tim did to Ohio that year will always be remembered as a legendary performance. Tishimanga Biakabutuka you are missed.

@Comptech224 1995. That was the game where that jackass Terry Glenn said, "We need to keep Michigan down here where they belong, just like the rest of them teams...and we're going to go up there and kick their butt like we did to everybody else."

@LetsPlayPC I'm pretty sure Denard had a couple runs that are more impressive last year than that one. Not saying it isn't one of the greatest but It really doesn't hold a candle to the TD run against Bowling Green... Even Denard's first play from scrimmage as a freshman is better, despite the fumbled snap.
