@@perfectlyimperfect9129 sadly no I already pressed charges for identity theft and I have talked to the judge, prosecutor, and her arresting officer and their Sargent. Saddest part is she can do it again in another state because they don’t share that type of information. So in both Utah and Oregon they have notes on her fingerprints saying she steals my identity with her real information. People do that all of the time unfortunately. One of the reasons why it wasn't corrected immediately is because of the charges. That jurisdiction only cared about collecting the money for the fines. You wouldn't spend a long time in jail if arrested for such an offense anyway, so they won't spend time trying to figure out if you are who you say you are. Had they ran the defendant's name she probably would have had more problems if she already had warrants or was on probation. So she used her sister's name and information because she knew she didn't have a record.

My loser youngest brother wanted my mom to co-sign for a $15,000 Harley. This was back in 1981. She refused. He found a woman to play the part of my mom. He had snuck her ID and made a xerox copy. They went to the bank. He had moms full name, phone, birthday, soc sec number, the address of the business she owned. The loan was approved. He got the motorcycle. BTW he was 28 years old. He lived with her so he made sure no paperwork came about the loan. He didnt pay a dime. They served papers on my mom warning they were going to take her house. She managed to catch the notice about the foreclosure hearing. She shows up in court. The only thing that saved her is statements from her customers that she was 25 miles away doing hair all day. And the handwriting didnt match. He took the motorcycle and hid it so the repo guy couldnt get it. My dad had just died that June and my brother didnt care that she was going to be homeless and lose a paid for house! Story twist - she never kicked him out. He was never punished. Well first of all the sister, if sober, is not working a program for recovery which requires they make amends for the wrongs they've done.

What a difference in the two sisters! Dang. Btw, part of recovery is owning up to the things you did. I bet the defendant is very jealous and sees her sister as a "goody two shoes". I'm glad the plaintiff had the insight to record her. She made sure to have all of her proof in hand.

This was the most slam dunk 100% sure case I have ever seen. This was not just a preponderance of evidence but would've been 100 to 0 if were a jury trial.

Judge Judy really liked the good sister and believed her because she usually doesn't take letters from third parties (her school counselor). Glad she prevailed!

The letter from the school counselor is different in this situation because it's not a witness statement. It's proof of her attendance.

I would’ve of loved to see the interview after the case to see what the sister has to say now after the judgement.

I don't know if that sister is a rotten person, but sadly I know that drug addiction can turn anyone into a rotten person. Hopefully she can stay clean and sober.

If she was working on her sobriety, she would be making amends with the family members she used and hurt.
@livingfiction

@@tonyhoward7004 perhaps she lacks the ability to understand how her actions have hurt people, and what amends need to be made. I agree restitution is an important part of the sober journey, I’m just trying to give her the benefit of the doubt.
