Gun Laws in US
bit.ly/2CHLudt
I’m not saying this to say that we live in a dangerous world, actually, that’s exactly why I’m saying this even though Anti-Gun people like to make light of it; GOOD people with guns stop BAD people with guns from doing bad things. Anti-Gun people can crack jokes about it all they want but there's no denying it.
500,000 to 3 million times each year is how many people use their guns in self-defense according to the CDC.
So, I'll repeat it again, Good people with guns stop bad people with guns from doing bad things.
It’s why even the most anti-gun person on the planet won’t put up a sign in their front yard that says, “Criminals beware, There are no guns here”.
They know they might as well put up a sign that says, " Come Rob us, we have no means to protect ourselves"
Now I know there will be people who see this and say but if she had a gun and started shooting they would have shot back at her, but instead, she complied and no one got shot at.
Really!?
You want the decision of whether you live or die to be exclusively in the hands of someone who has such little respect for your life that they put a gun to your face threaten to kill you and then take your property?
Nah, I'm cool, I'd rather have a gun in that situation so that I can make the decision about how I want to protect my life.
The Gun Control Lobby would have you believe compliance will win you the day every time, but that’s not the case.
For every story of a person complying and living there’s are tons of stories of people complying and dying. So forgive me if I don't subscribe to your Toxic Pacifist Movement.
Criminals fear Good People with Guns even though the gun control lobby and their politicians want to make it as hard as possible on the Good people to have guns.
In a study, "The U.S. Department of Justice, private gun ownership influences the behavior of criminals," over 1,800 imprisoned felons across the country were surveyed on their opinions of firearms.
Here is what they learned:
One-third of criminals questioned had encountered an armed victim. The study found 34% of the felons had been scared off, shot at, wounded, or even captured by a gun-owning victim.
56% of those interviewed agreed that criminals intentionally avoid armed victims. If criminals know the individual has a weapon, they chose to target another victim.
The law-abiding citizens are already at a disadvantage.
We don't get to chose the time and place where we will have to defend our lives and we can only have the guns the government says are legal. Criminals get to chose whatever weapon they want, the day, the time, the moon alignment, the location, and the strategy while The Gun Control Lobby and their politicians keep trying to make it even harder for us.
Your life belongs to you, therefore you decide how it’s going to be protected and there is nothing and I mean nothing like having the ability to protect your own life and not having to depend on a cop or Good Samaritan to be there in time or depending on a criminal to be merciful.
For those of you who think, "We should just get rid of the guns like they did in the UK, and stuff like this doesn't happen there," the video at the end is a group of guys carjacking a woman in the UK using Knives.

@@captainsewerrat I know it's difficult to understand the difference between compliant and polite. One is forced respect and can still get you killed, the other one is a mutual respect, it's funny that you talk about Americans being polite and laughing when you're doing the complete opposite on the internet. It's easy to laugh at somebody and not be polite to them on the internet compared to being in front of them. The internet has created rude people that are cowardly hiding behind a screen, compared to some of us who don't hold that fear or are not cowardly.

So why didn’t the armed guard stop the Florida shooting? They say just the thought of an armed person will stop a bad guy from trying anything. Didn’t work there. Plus there’s 500k self defence uses with gun fair enough. But look how many offence uses there is with them. The U.K. doesn’t need guns to defend themselves. Just have the cops be 10 mins away that’s a European policy. And if you look at studies done it shows that if a bad guy find out you have a gun your more likely to have them use theirs on you. The U.K. has stricter laws and less crime and murders, so how doesn’t control work? NFA items are regulated and they hardly ever get used, but control doesn’t work? And red flag laws are a good thing, most countries have them to stop potential shootings, the U.K. learnt its lesson after a shooting as the shooter was reported to the cops time and time again as people around him noticed he wasn’t right and their wasn’t anything at the time they could do as they didn’t have the power too. They changed that after the shooting. And a licensing registration system would work like for cars, all owners can be traced and guns too so they get put in the blackmarket and so on. And there is so many advantages. There’s also no need to own certain guns, and large magazines? More bullets means for damage and destruction and the stats show more bullets cause more damage and deaths so limiting that would help. And replica guns like airsoft and such why do you need a exact replica? So you can act like it’s real? Run about the woods playing airsoft, that’s just asking for trouble as others won’t know if it’s real or fake guns. Why can’t they get in non realistic colors? As when missed used the guy behind the counter doesn’t know what’s real or not.

I install burglary alarms for a living. I'll break down how they work: The alarm is tripped, the alarm dials a central station (20-30 seconds), the dispatcher at the station sees the alarm on a screen (if there aren't any other alarms they're currently dealing with) and calls a main keyholder to verify whether or not it's a false alarm. If there is no answer, they continue down a call list until they reach someone. There are sometimes 5 people on the call list, and each call is 40-60 seconds. If there is no answer, the police are called to report the alarm (45-120 seconds). The police dispatcher then sends the closest available unit, which could take 10 minutes or longer. So from alarm initiation to police arrival could be up to 20 minutes. A readily available firearm takes 5 seconds to retrieve. Which do you want to rely on?

@@davidthurston3346 That’s not even remotely true. When the second amendment was written, civilians had access to cannons, mortars, artillery, and machine guns. @@davidthurston3346 I should have said machine guns, not gatling guns. Machine guns similar to the gatling gun existed at the time, “gatling gun” is simply the common name that those machine guns are referred to, but yeah, it’s not accurate so my bad. Also, my point is simply that the weapons of the time were just as capable of doing the things you described, so they are clearly protected by the constitution. If the founding fathers owned machine guns, then they clearly intended for us to as well. Whether you agree with them or not is ultimately irrelevant, because the whole point of a right is that it cannot be infringed. My brother has been a police officer for the League City PD for 12yrs now. Anytime someone brings up the argument that people should just call the cops to him, his response is "you do realize a lot of those times we're just there to take a body count, right?" of course law enforcement saves lives, but they are not omnipotent beings, they need time to get to where they need to go, and the amount of damage that people can do in a matter of minutes while they get there is horrific. That's why I personally think even school zones should not be gun free zones, because the only people they are restricting with that are the parents, and you can be damn sure I will do ANYTHING to protect my son, and the other children... hell, a lot of us are military vets. Just throwing that out there.

Round my parts, let the cops find out that you carry on an empty chamber. They will mock you and if you used to be a cop yourself, (such as I was) they will freaking ridicule you for it. Things like, "did you go on duty with an empty chamber? Did you eat a bowl of stupid this morning? It's better to judged by 12 than carried by six. You used to do this job, you know how long it takes, even in code, to get to a call. You think you're quick draw McGraw and can clear your holster, rack the slide and stop the bad guy with a gun?" And heaven forbid you defend yourself and then try to give them the rundown, they will remind you to shut up and not speak to them until you have a lawyer present. Yeah my cops are pretty good dudes. But even they will tell you that being unarmed is stupid. Guess that's why Wyoming crime rates are low. Everybody packs, and everybody is polite. Hell, if somebody wants to the race thing, our little old black ladies round here carry .357 and .44 magnums in their purses. Meanwhile, cowboys, roughnecks, and just plain rednecks are carry 9mm, .45 ACP, .40, 10mm and granny over there is laughing and call our guns "cute". Seriously, I have a two little old ladies, one white, one black, laugh at my HK P30, and my five mags that I carry (four on the belt one in the gun with one in the pipe) because "do you want to hurt them young man or stop them?" Then heat packing grannies show me their .357's with all six cylinders loaded. I thought my dad carrying a .44 mag when I was a kid was over kill, nope, 70 some year old grannies packing .357's. don't think they are going to get robbed anytime soon.

@Raimonster ..yup exactly. But that is why we have to get involved. When we outsource our well being to strangers instead of taking an active role, we open ourselves up to tyrants. If all of us ARE the politicians and the government then the criminally corrupt can’t get away with anything. It’s when we all say “I’m too busy with my career to try and do anything in politics” that we allow criminals to take control of our lives... everyone needs to run for some sort of office, everyone needs to volunteer for gov positions and posts, everyone needs to be active. It’s too important not to and the effects of not doing so we are seeing now.. Not being involved in politics is like a person giving the keys to their business to random strangers on the street right before they head off for a 3 month vacation across the globe and they just hope the people they gave the keys to are honest human beings... and then when they come back they find their business ransacked and are mad at the strangers they gave the keys to instead of being mad at themselves for being so negligent. Lol! We need to take an active role. Our vote alone is not enough if we aren’t actively engaged in politics.

@Raimonster most government jobs are part time. Even Congress is technically a part time job. While the politicians themselves say they are full time, they are not. Plus not all of us need to be senators. There are part time positions and volunteer positions in your local government that might only require a couple hours a week commitment.

It is said that even if you are being pulled over by a police officer on a back road that it is not against the law to put on your four ways and drive to a public location or a lit area so that there is Witnesses. In this case it is unclear if any of the passersby are remotely aware that any thing illegal or nefarious is taking place so just being in a public location such as this one is not always going to help you which is obvious when seeing this interaction. It is common sense that non-criminal people with guns are an absolute deterrent for most criminals. People that want gun control obviously never have been victimized or they are the ones that want to eventually victimize others and that is 100% not the answer.

@@MamaMOB I wouldn’t call the person stupid, it’s a natural reaction to want to view the damage of someone who just hit your vehicle. The best option is like the officer suggested, look in your rear view and observe who’s all in the vehicle. How many people are in the vehicle? What’s their demeanor like? Also like he stated, they (THE DRIVER) should be getting out to exchange information, not a group of people. Lastly, if all else fails, stay put in the vehicle, observe the license plate number, make, model and color of the vehicle, and a description of the people inside and drive off while calling 911 and reporting the above information…..BE SAFE FOLKS!!!

I’ve been rear ended three times, all legitimate accidents, in my pick up truck. My truck has a real steel bumper whereas most cars have a lot of plastic in the front. Two out of the three accidents only caused a slight blemish to the bumper chrome yet ripped a gaping hole in the grill and plastic of the car hitting me. The hitch is like a fish hook, when the vehicles pull away from each other the hitch rips plastic even more. The knife issue in the U.K. is beyond a joke!

In addition to knife crime in the U.K. I think acid attacks are also worth a mention, pretty much shows criminals will always find a weapon to hurt their victims.

Acid attacks are rare and knife attacks are no more common in the UK than in the US (USA actually has slightly higher homicide by stabbing per capita than the UK). there is 1 thing that is vastly different though.

@@jizzmonkey9679 Record highs of 46,000 knife killings in the uk in 2020 and had been on the rise since they started recording it. Vs On average 1600 knife killings in the us. You might want to check your math just a bit there That's SIGNIFICANTLY more common

@@kairu_aname there wasn't even 1000 murders in total in the UK in 2020,so I think you need to check your figures.

@@jizzmonkey9679 You are correct. I was looking at the wrong number. However, knife crime has been on the rise and even crimes in general have been on the rise ever since they started recording them. (Excluding anomalies like mass shootingsand pandemics) Meanwhile in the US the general trend is downward(excluding anomalies like mass shootings and pandemics)

@@kairu_aname knife crime is on the increase because they keep making more things illegal, violent crime rated.s have been level sin 2014, overall crime has had a slight increase but thst is mainly down to the fact we have about 7 police officers for the whole county. It would appear that the less police are a visible presence the more petty crime is committed, the police we do have are to busy arresting people for saying hurtful things.

And, don't forget, that every time we comply it only emboldens criminals to commit more such crimes. We can't act like sheep and not expect to be regularly sheared and eventually slaughtered.

The BIG problem that I have with "compliance" is that you have rewarded a criminal attack on yourself AND increased the likelihood of this happening to someone else in the not to future.
