It’s been some 20 years since I “dated” but I personally only dated one woman at a time out of respect for the individual. How exactly are you supposed to determine if a person is “the one” when you have a rotation? Just prior to meeting my wife, I started dating a girl that I was highly interested in long term. We had chemistry, had loads of fun together, the attraction was there.. so after a few dates I told her I wasn’t interested in dating anyway else until we see where this is headed. She agreed. No more than two weeks later I brought flowers by her apartment to surprise her and she answers the door awkwardly. She then proceeds to tell me she has “company” and will call me later. I then asked her if this “company” was another guy, and she says “yes”. I then said, “I thought we agreed this was going to be exclusive?” Her response, “well you said that, and I really like you, but.. can we talk about this later?”. I then told her don’t bother calling. A few years later she has kids with 2 different guys, married one briefly and collects child support from both which she used to go back to college. Dodged a bullet with that one..

I'm a 52 year old woman, wife and mother. Born 1970. I have never had to "date" my whole life. The few boyfriends I had, I never "dated" any of them. My first boyfriend was a friend of a girlfriend at school, who I met after graduating. We met up and I would hang out at his house, go out with his friends etc. My second boyfriend I met during a TAFE (technical college) student camping trip and after we met there, we just hung out together and went bush walking (a lot!!) and backpacked around Australia. My third boyfriend was my brother in law's cousin (my sister, her husband, his cousin). I was working for my brother in law who was self employed and I worked from the office attached to the garage. Both his brother and their cousin worked in the same building as they shared the space/rent. I spent time with him at work then we travelled around Australia together. My fourth boyfriend, now my husband, was my sister's husband's best friend (my sister, her husband, his best friend). We met and the next day he visited and we went shopping together, they I just hung at his house, we watched movies, nothing special. Niw, my brother in law and husband are brother in law's! No dating in my life. No job hunting required as .My friends & family helped me find some to spend the rest of my life with.
