Another classic case of how childhood trauma and abuse affect a person in a terrible way. Julia was severely insecure and traumatized and that made her vulnerable. People who haven’t been shown real and healthy love easily get tricked into fake love and are often attracted to other insecure and traumatized people. She also sounds like she had ADHD - being constantly bored is a big symptom of ADHD. That, combined with anxiety, trauma and PTSD makes for a very messed up person. Fix child abuse and trauma and we will have a better world!! Problem is, it’s a big and complicated problem to fix.

Try living your whole life with horrible PTSD, depression, anxiety and health problems from suffering as a child. I was shocked to discover that George, following his release from prison, was actually able to marry & have a family. Surely the fact that he had strangled to death, tried to set alight, decapitated & disposed of Julie's body, would have been enough to deter any sane woman from wanting to marry him - with the thought that he might also want to kill them one day as well! I also found it hard to understand why Julie would want to remain romantically involved with a man who had tried to strangle her own mother. No friends, no family, no daughter and she probably didn't speak the language. Sure, it's beautiful, but it doesn't seem like she had anyone to enjoy it with. Plus, being new to the location you don't really know where anything is and it seems like her bf was terribly controlling.

@@enaitat. Thank you! Beautiful surroundings and culture are not the only things in life. It wasn’t even a culture she had any personal connection with. Even though I’m indigenous and Swedish I think I would likely feel isolated on either a reservation or in Sweden, even though I respect and feel a great connection to both cultures. I’m from an urban area and have never actually lived in them. I got very tired of the town I lived in with an abusive husband. I never really got to know anyone there because of him.

Truly a tragic story. I don't see how, when looking at the pics of her on the cruise and in Greece with George how she is 35 pounds overweight, or has gained a lot of weight that she never lost. Her body may have changed after childbirth, but she is nowhere near fat in those pics.

Yes but remember we are talking 80s/90s here. The normal body weight for women was less than 130 pounds. My mother was 110 pounds around the time and that was considered healthy weight. This was the heroin chick era. Ribs sticking out and big breasts, sculpted small round butt was considered the beauty standard back then.

I recall browsing a dating app and one girl had filled out her interests section with "being pretty." That was it. And I thought it was the most honest one I had ever read lol. It seems like there are only a few universal offenses and one of them is being called "ugly." Being called "stupid" is another. An attack on one's autonomy and morality might be others, but I am not as confident about them. I'm not aware of any psychological theory that accounts for these as primal universal values.
@lostandfound5145 Жыл бұрын
It’s extremely short sighted to be focused on beauty ESPECIALLY for a woman. If a woman puts all her eggs in the beauty basket, you can assume she is stupid. That’s why it’s a bad trait. Now if she’s capitalizing on her good looks but planning on having value past about age 26 then she’s beautiful and smart and a keeper 😂

Dr. Grande, our state bird in New Jersey is the Mosquito 😊. Even in South Jersey (outside Philly) the bugs are crazy! Greenhead flies (ouch!), yellow jackets (ouch!), fleas (no reason - they literally leap off the ground and onto their new hosts!), no-see-ums (little bugs you can’t see that cause itchy bites!), ticks! (you can go to the beach and come home with a tick on you!). Other than the bugs the South NJ Shore is really nice. I grew up there, in Margate City. I left home at 15 lol (wasn’t NJ’s fault - parents moved to the inland part of Ft. Pierce, Fla.). Horrifying in the mid-1980s unless you liked pickup trucks with rebel flags and pit bulls in the back. No public transportation where we were. No future in my mind. Ended up in Orange County, CA. My folks moved back to S. Jersey. I still used to love flying home in the winters to see my folks and take in an Eagles game. Drinking is a huge past time. I drink more in one week in NJ than the whole year out west. It’s lovely there in the winter. Anyway, just my experience! Oh - stay away from Camden at night 😊

Freud said that when you insight somebody (or in this case, some state), you are trying to help him, and people don't like these insights. When George saw the woman was a great person, and she accepted low income people because she was one of them, George got to have his way, and it eventually led to murder. No person needs death and or killing.
