To me it is actually amazing. Although heartbreaking, it astounds me what the brain will do to protect us. Such an unbearable memory, so it will literally create a whole different person to take care of that one, while there is another person taking care of the rest. Absolutely stunning, what the brain does to cope with things.

My mom has DID. It’s a real disorder that isn’t recognized enough in the mental health community, and due to tiktok it’s become a mockery. While I will never know what it’s like to have DID, growing up and experiencing all of the good and bad things about DID through my mom is something I will never forget. The pain and suffering you have to undergo at such a young age to obtain DID is horrifying to even imagine. The small details my mom has told me about her past have always shaken me to my core. Please educate yourselves about mental illnesses. That way when you do encounter someone who has a mental illness, you can recognize it and understand a bit of what they’re going through and how to interact with them.

I study disorders whenever I get the chance to, I've always been sorrounded by people with mental illneses, disabilities, and disorders and even have ADHD myself. It kind of worries me that I'll come off rude at any particular moment so I've been trying to educate myself. I don't know so much about DID but the cause of it sounds terrible, I wish everyone with it to recover well from their past experiences!! The people I've met with DID are the sweetest souls I've ever met, they really didn't deserve whatever horrifying incident happened to them in the past.

Ironically, most people with this disorder will often think they are faking, but forgot they were faking. Denial is a hallmark of DID. It usually goes unnoticed and undiagnosed for years, even decades. It's a complex disorder and it is not a "one size fits all" thing. Switches are often so subtle that the person may not even realize they've switched. It's complicated.

As someone who had an experience assisting in a mental facility, this is actually real. Especially individuals with DID, their dissociation is either very subtle or abrupt like this one. And as a healthcare provider you really have to be gentle or at the very least, careful. My heart goes out to these people and their families.

Yeah this woman is faking. Therapists cant diagnose DID. No one can choose which alter comes forward, and switching is not instant. Child alters are not cute either. People with DID are not going to get in front of a camera to show off how adorable and quirky they are. Thank you for what you do, but please be vigilant for narcissists like her just seeking clout and attention.

@@ziadawn_ In my opinion, she's a skilled actress who has probably done some basic research on the condition, more than enough to pass as the stereotype. I can't tell if it's just her acting or if she has geniunely psyched herself into believing she has the condition. Narcissistic personality disorder can often exacerbate that phenomenon. I showed this video to my psychiatrist and that was his response. Honestly, switching alters at will is rare but possible. Switching to specific alters on command is not a thing, at least it's not considered a thing. If you have control over it, it wouldn't be a disorder. In the same way that if you have the ability to cope with depression in a healthy way, it's not a mental illness at that point. Also the child age time limit has been disproven, and even when it was believed, that only applied to victims of sexual trauma. Don't get me wrong, those are the most common DID patients, but it's not universal. Theoretically it can happen even in late adulthood if the trauma is bad enough and the mind is weak enough. Another "giveaway" is just the fact that she's eager to display the condition, even a little. People with DID, especially when they finally get the diagnosis, will try to hide it at all costs. There are cases of real footage but they usually aren't one on one interviews. And if you're not focused on looking for a switch, it will probably just seem like a change in mood or just go under the radar completely.
@kornykatz
@kornykatz 4 ай бұрын
Through intensive therapy switching can be controlled to a degree, especially with good communication like she's expressed having after I watched the rest of the interview + her other videos. Hypothetically anyone could be faking, sure, but we shouldn't just regard symptoms that don't display as expected as fake especially with such a misunderstood disorder. It's important to hold compassion for mentally ill people, even those we don't understand. Plus, if she was faking for this long and to such a degree... That would still be a definite mental illness, she'd still need help. I don't understand the demonization of pwNPD the other commenter was doing. Normal people don't lie like this or work so much on nailing a three year old child's mannerisms to such a degree. I'm generally just encouraging you to extend compassion if you have any intent in further pursuing assisting the mentally ill and not meet their behaviors with skepticism. I think for some things there will always be skepticism, but there's no reason to outwardly express that if you are not that person's psychologist, especially regarding the type of trauma you must be fakeclaiming to insinuate her disorder is fake. And even if it is fake... All the reasons for fakeclaiming can still be applied to someone who genuinely has the disorder. The attitude is just harmful. I'd rather better to be naïve and accept a "faker," than harm someone genuinely suffering by denying their trauma, honestly.

@@kornykatz Switching can be controlled but NOTHING like what is on video here. Immediately going to a specific alter in seconds with no processing time? It literally can't be done. Switching abruptly like that is random and often disorienting. She is 100% faking the illness, to get attention for her modeling career. Does she have narcissism? Yes. Is she a good actress? Yes. Is she doing a disservice to everyone who actually has DID? Yes.

My biological father has DID. It was absolutely terrifying to witness and experience as a small child. My parents got divorced when I was only 6-7 years old, but those 6-7 years were the most traumatic years of my life. He was incredibly unpredictable, and would burst into violent fits at random. He attacked me as a baby in my crib (for crying,) tried to kill my mother multiple times in front of me, and would slam my older siblings' heads' against the walls until they lost consciousness and fell to the floor...and he would just walk away like nothing happened. Because of all that...I am very wary of people with DID, and I find it fascinating to learn more about this disorder. It takes some EXTREME childhood trauma to cause a personality to split like this. 😢

I think usually this disorder is more subtle than this. And that's why it goes undiagnosed a lot of times. To an outsider looking in it will seem like the person loses their temper over something really small or becomes immature about a topic when they are otherwise a normal mature adult. Meaning that the voice and the way they hold their body doesn't always change like this. It's more of a subtle personality switch, triggered by an outside force.

Actual DID patient here. She's faking. Don't get me wrong, it's good acting but this is not how child alters behave. In the full video, she said her diagnosis was from a therapist . . . it takes years of psychiatric observation by actual doctors to get a diagnosis. People with DID cant pick which alter comes forward and they can't switch on command. It's also rarely instantaneous, often taking over a minute.

Is it connected to trauma based dissociative personality disorders? Would highly recommend to look into the work from Dr Marcel Polte, he talks about victims of MK Ultra. Trauma based abuse (horrific ritual abuse) is used to create such personality disorder with different personalities. If you would do an interview with Marcel Polte that would be great.

YES!!! I have C-PTSD, which is a dissociative, trauma based disorder. It’s essentially the precursor to DID. Many years before I was diagnosed, I became absolutely fascinated with MK Ultra. I’ve spent hundreds of hours researching it over the years. As I started to learn more about my disorder (and DID), everything just clicked. I remember writing in my notes that “MK Ultra is just basic b*tch psychology” …meaning that at the end of the day, all they were really doing was giving people DID and programming the alters. Most people get hung up on the LSD aspect of MKU, but that’s not the important part at all. It’s the psychology that was being used.

This disorder can have many different alters. It depends on the person. I have D.I.D, and i have what she has, as well as fictives. (A fictive is an alter made/based our a character that relates to the trauma, or they find comfort in to help cope with the trauma.) This disorder has so many different unique cases and alters, it is amazing to see someone actually be patient and takes the time to actually get to know a new alter who is fronting.

My mom sometimes talks like a little child with my little sister that actually is one. They kind of do it in a playful way, what scares me are the immense similarities to this woman switching. The last time my mom did that I felt extremely uncomfortable and nervous, thinking back to that day I feel like it might’ve brought back faded memories from my childhood. I’m almost sure that she used to do this with me and my other, younger sister as well. The difference is, that I, as a child, did not notice how weird it actually was. It didn’t only seem to be like a role she played, it felt eerily realistic. I was basically in denial of the reality of the situation as I was witnessing it happen again this year after such a long time. I had never realised how serious this might be and what it meant.

We are still...looking to see if we're 5 in here or its just faking it? Like we have a lot of things that say yes were five and this or that fits but then we don't notice the switching...pretty sure people don't notice it..even my mom just gets annoyed bcs "THAT'S NOT YOU! You're acting weird" then we go "OH! it's not x that's on control but S" it can take weeks or months to notice OR switch. We also normally work with a fixed unit. We're not always communicating or interfering with each other and except for the REAL hard moments we don't have a black out. Everyone has a name and although we can somehow inflict for how many times x or S or Y has been in here it's not a "Five years for sure" nor we do have ages like I'm pretty sure E would be the most...innocent and immature one but we're not comfortable saying she is 5 yo or something though she feels the youngest age wise... it's mostly feel like a silent (sometimes chaotic) car ride. With four on the seats (driver, passenger, back seats) and the one on the baggager ( that's our...protector that's also our most savage one and problematic in someways...) we normally switch quite smoothly except for urgent moments when the one we shall nor say the name one comes out abruptly and we feel the discomfort and the need to adjust fast. Will show this to the psychologist and...let's see

my alters all base their age on the years/times in our collective life that each one has an affinity to in my experience. one of my alters acts 4 and has memories from being 4, so we just say she's 4, but she might be 3 or 5, we don't know with 100% certainty. i have heard (and experienced) that some alters can have multiple versions of themselves at different ages, aka having their own system, and they have a better understanding of that than everyone else in the system. but to explain that is impossible because their memory disappears like waking up from a dream when a switch happens. it's really frustrating. some of mine have birthdays too. it really is confusing because when i switch, i can't tell i switched a lot of the time either. there's only a few of my alters who notice it when it happens.

What we now understand about DID and dissociative disorders in general is that the "multiple personalities" aren't distinct personalities at all, they are the same personality but splintered into different aspects. The switch in most diagnosed individuals with DID isn't immediate, it happens slowly and usually as a result of psychological or physiological stresses.

No. I'm most cases most people with DID have multiple alters and they are similar to one another in some way. For example: one may function as the one to engage with you, one may do the cooking and cleaning, one may be the one that goes to work, and the other may be the one to engage in sex. In many cases they are co-conscious with one another and aware of what the other is doing. Yes. They are alters like the lady here. Children alters that are brought on by triggers and stress. No you can't just "switch" on command like this lady claims she can do. Often times they can't switch out log it or it is brief. Yes occasionally they can turn an alter on command but it is usually between the primaries that are already out alot. The key point: Primary. If I needed to talk to my wife on a serious matter she would just switch to the serious on her own. In one case she would play with one of the kids like she was one of them but this was rare. This woman is faking it or playing it up for attention. Edit: This can be done but I doubt the seriousness of it. If she is capable of doing it then the child alter she displays is a Primary that I mentioned. I don't know her case and may have spoken too quickly. I'm still leaning still no, and it is played up for the camera.
