I mean, you look at all the airborne units. They used to be considered hard like the ranger battalion, but they just kept lowering standards to let people through. And now, airborne is just a school instead of a really hard unit to get into
@EckRD2 ай бұрын
Hard is subjective. GWOT has made all the units in the armed forces complacent. NCOs and Officers are mediocre, even the good ones. These airborne units will have a hard time replacing KIAs and WIAs in a actual war, if standards are high. Remember, standards are only enforced in peacetime. Artillery, bullets, Mortars, land mines, drones, and enemy cruise missiles dont care about looking good and being tough. Our adversaries( russia, china, iran, nk) will play the attrition warfare( see Ukraine) which is dangerous for the US military. The US military is run like a business( since GWOT started) and casualties is bad for business. If you served or still in, you know I'm right. There are NCOs and Officers who are now leading troops with a mentality of " i cant have turds and shitbags watch my six or 9 or 3 ". PUSSY lol

When we got back from Iraq in 2009 my squad was picked and assigned to help out another mixed/non-infantry company in our battalion for a few weeks. When we got there we were in shock and couldn't believe how inferior they were physically. Literally, their best person was equivalent to our worst guy at my unit. We would go on ruck marches with them and literally non of the females could finish a ruck march. The female sergeants would have the dudes under them carry all of their shit. Which is a major no no in any infantry company. You care your own shit. I'm looking around at these pathetic pieces of shit with no struggle or effort at all and thinking to myself I definitely don't belong here and can't wait unit I get back to my unit. After we finished working with them. As we were heading back to our company area we kissed the ground.

I've had this conversation several times with fellow service members since the combat exclusion clause was lifted. Here's what we know; Women can perform the job of a combatant. However, they're on average not as effective as men. Female outliers are not the norm but are very capable, but only as capable as the marginal Male Combat arms soldier. Of course you don't need a PHD or study to figure that out. No elite professional sports league in the world has even one female competing at that level. Why? Because billions of dollars are at stake, not politics. The inclusion of females is combat arms was not a "mission effectiveness" decision. It was based upon a lawsuit and the constitutionality of the exclusion, along with a political push to demonstrate the "capability" of women in the armed forces. The decision was not litigated in congress as it should have been and is highly immoral. Placing people in life threatening jobs when they lack the mental or physical ability to compete at the highest level is extremly dangerous and places everyone at risk. The question of "should we" is paramount in this decision, but policy makers too often are more interested in "optics" rather than facts. Example: We know that physiologically, Boys between the ages of 12-16 would be excellent candidates as Combat Arms soldiers. Not only are they very trainable blank slates, but the risk of injury and atrrition during training would be far less than experienced by the current cohort. However, we understand that it's not "MORALLY" correct to subject young children to that type of training environment and most importantly, expose them to the horrors of war before their brains are developed enough to process it. Just as it's highly immoral to subject women to an environment that has for millenia been unforgiving to them, placing them in scenarios where 99 percent of the time they'll be outmatched physically.

Eloquently argued, the facts are irrefutable. Sadly, progressive ideologies require a suspension of logical facts and 'new' relativistic conclusions to be factored in. You can get away with it in multi million pounds / dollar businesses, where the corrosive effects can be covered up, for a time, but when the rubber hits the road in real life, war and sport facts won't be caring about feelings.

So let's see if I understand this correctly. Women do not want men and their sports teams because they say they cannot compete against men, but yet they think women are going to add value to combat units, whether it's Marine Corps, infantry or Army special forces 2 of the finest fighting forces in the world. They do not bring value. And they do not make either one of those units more lethal. No more, then, a woman playing sports against a man make sense.

The finest fighting force in the world United States. Marine Corps has been fighting this for a long time. I'm not saying that women are not patriotic. And they cannot squeeze a trigger, but they do not belong in a combat unit. Like the United States Marine Corps. You can't even try out to be a Marine Raiders unless you have been in the Marine Corps for a few years, and already been a Marine for a while. Un like. Your special forces or your navy seals. When you join the navy, you can request to try out for the seals right from the get go. You can try out for the Rangers. And for the green berets. However to be a Marine Raider You cannot even apply for them unless you've already been in. The Marine Corps on active duty for a few years and have proved yourself, and the standards to be a Marine Raider are much higher. Imagine allowing women in the Marine Raiders or in Marine infantry, totally ridiculous.
@vik12D2 ай бұрын
Meeting the standard, and performing is all that matters. Most female dive candidates fail pull ups for the DPFT, but there are those that pass the DPFT, and actually pass dive school. They can do the job, so what does it matter? There shouldn't be a blanket rule preventing anyone from attempting training. There are tons of men who can't pass, high attrition is high attrition. With that said, it would be a good idea to have all female units, and all male units. We're not at Starship Troopers yet, having co-ed showers. Fun fact about female Sailors failing prescreen. In 2001, EOD took the same DPFT as SEAL candidates at Great Lakes with the Dive Motivators. You had to pass it by your third week of training, in basic. The only difference was that the SEAL candidates had to wear pants and boots, and EOD candidates were supposed to be allowed to wear shorts and sneakers...but everyone was told to bring utility pants and boots. Everyone took the DPFT in utilities and boots anyway. The Navy had female EOD techs in 2001, not a lot, but some, so it surprises me that female Sailors could pass prescreen/mudpup, whatever you want to call it in 2001, but allegedly not today? I've been through dive school with the USN (EOD) and USA (12D). Tons of males, and females fail it. Regularly.

Im a woman!!! And I do not believe in woman being in combat roles. I served in the military for 7 years as support. I dont think its honoring to the Lord for woman to fill these positions. I think by allowing woman to fill these postions it will weaken our military. And biologically men are physically stronger than woman...thats just the facts. Also, having one or two female deployed with all men...yea, it puts the woman in a dangerous position. Its just not necessary. And coming from a woman who was in the military, most of the woman I met who wanted to go infantry or ranger were motivated by "I wanna prove I can". They are motivated by pride and ego, not a sincere heart to serve thier country.... Im sure there are a few woman who have pure motives for wanting to go to these combat but Ibjyst think its dangerous for the woman and the overall mission. Men and woman have different roles and certain postions should only be filled by men. Same thing in the Body of Chirst and marriage. Men and woman have different roles/functions. My future husband is at Special Forces selcetion right now. Im glad I served in the military for a season and it was a great experience but I would never wanna be in a combat role with all men... "Guys thier sh!t when woman come around".... Yep! They act as distraction to the mission. It creates unnecessary drama. And unfortunately, many military woman are very promiscuous. The one thing I've learned deploying 6 times with 3 different SF groups, 2 SEAL teams, and 1 CAG squadron is that they don't care about the badges you have or how many schools under your belt, the main thing I was asked when I did missions was, "If the shit hits the fan, can I trust you to jump on any weapon and use it, and can I depend on you to be at my side". If you can't answer yes, they don't want you near them. I also concur on the CST/FET teams. I've trained these teams and the feedback we got back was exactly what he's talking about.

I think woman should be allowed in to try as long as the PT standards are not lowered. During WII the women were out sniping the men during the sniper wars in Russia. Women have better control over their heart rate then men. Also, in the past, all of the world record long distant swimming records have been set by women because women have more body fat then men, so then they could tap into energy where men cannot. Women also have higher pain tolerances than men. In Russia women are allowed to go through Spetsnaz training, and women are allowed to go through Marine Recon training in the Philippines. I'm not against it at all just as long as they don't lower the standards.
