Hi, I’m a woman in her 20s and I’m training to become a U.S. Navy SEAL. I’m a civilian and I want to go enlisted. What advice would you give for women that want to be SEALs?? If you had to go to BUD/S again, how would you prepare differently? What books or workout programs would you recommend? Most female SEAL candidates struggle with carrying the boats and logs, doing pull ups, having grip strength and completing the “Dirty Name” on the obstacle course. Also, a lot of female SEAL candidates break their legs or develop stress fractures.

@@Anonymous18817recognize, that most real men cannot say they dont dont like their women wearing pornstar eyelashes or chasing the latest rediculous fashion fads. Just like most infantry guys or operators will not say "THEY DONT WANT WOMEN THERE." I have interviewed USMC Infantry guys about their observations. They are conflicted between wanting to see women succeed and being their cheerleader, and wanting to be in the REAL corps.... Chesty Pullers Corps.... The Old Corps, the boys club etc. Men still need to be men. There should be Mens spaces juat like there should be Womens spaces. The people in high station love that all kinds of behavior are destroying the family and diminishing child birth. We collectively need to realize the inherent power of women in nurturing and child birth. Turning women into warriors is a step backward. Women should be a warrior like a momma bear, not as a default full time setting. Programming them to be so, is a step toward collapse.

I'm an Army Veteran, 5,7, wide shoulder female but I know I'm not cut out to be an operator. Also, many men are not cut out either. But our American society is not yet ready for this. It's a physical strength thing, a few females may be able to do it but when they get shot or killed it will probably put the male combatants in a vulnerable position with regards to mission effectiveness. I would not have wanted to go through basic with men, too much distraction. Also, the combat loads that operators/special forces are required to carry are very heavy and are difficult for a male body to carry. I don't see it as a lack of mental strength but a fact of different physical capabilities.

This is an Infantryman's perspective and it's simple. 200lb man carrying a 100lb ruck means the ruck is 50% his body weight. A 100lb female carrying a 100lb ruck means it's 100% of her weight. Who's doing more work? Who's expending more energy?

@MVK_GS
@MVK_GS 7 ай бұрын
@@WarKing77 This is the thing: When an SFODA infiltrates into an OA, the way that SFODA 555 and 595 did in Afghanistan in 2001, each team member carried a rucksack of - at least - 120 lb. Why? Because what you have on your back is everything you will have with you until the next time you get logistical support. Plus, there is a PACE plan wrapped around all the commo and medical gear, which translates into a lot of weight. If one person in an SFODA cannot carry their part and move forward an excess of 12 miles at a good pace, that means someone else has to carry it. It is not that women cannot be in special operations. Of course they can. It is just that politicians are trying to force females into these teams just to say they can. In reality, females belong in special operations, but we need to put them in functions where they are exploiting their best capabilities, not trying to be biological men. Do not put a female in a position where she has to carry a wounded 200 lb. man (including gear) to cover, in combat, or a 120 lb. rucksack for 12 miles while keeping up with 180 lb. biological males who are also athletes. That's not fair to the female and it's not fair to the rest of the team. But there are functions in SOF - to include some trigger puller positions - where those females who qualify will thrive. Anyway, that's my opinion.

Actually, in Israel they have a basic manpower problem. They are surrounded on three sides outnumbered 40:1 with an ocean on the fourth side. The whole Israeli thing is a red herring diversion from OUR needs, demographics and reality. Additionally, Israel is plagued by the same liberals determined to weaken western nations anyway they can in the face of communism or violent Islam. Israel skirts around the issue by letting women give interviews and tours on duty claiming to be infantry battalion commanders or armor officers. These women are basically glorified (but for Israel, necessary), heavily armed border and perimeter guards...out in places where nothing serious is likely to happen; and, if it does, they call for the all-male cavalry...literally. They have fooled you and that's the idea. They call them infantry or armor and maybe activists leave them alone SO THEY CAN KILL THE ENEMY AND SURVIVE

She was one those super athlete types you mentioned are needed, passed SMU selection, and pretty much worked with Naval Special Warfare types in JSOC, bringing specialist field SIGINT, HUMINT and linguistics to the fight. It is telling too that she was KIA alongside others who were also very much in the SOF or ex-SOF turned intel space in Manbij, Syria, at a time when everywhere was dangerous in the fight against ISIS. RIP. Great dialogue. Can’t comment on the Special Operations side of it but my two things are: 1. The point made about what happens when you put two females on a firebase with a platoon worth of dudes. 2. Long-term viability (enlisted) - physiologically women just don’t hold up to the workload as long as men. Instead of Indian male soldiers, if there were female soldiers, would they have been able to defend themselves and territory with their bare hands ? This is why even the Israelis and Ukranians do not send woment right to the front, even though both are at war. The list of Israeli KIAs after ground operations started, will show that they do not support the idea of sending women to a firefight. All this is just woke idiocy.

My much larger body and frame are wrecked from years of humping rucks and static line jumps. Can't imagine the long term effects on a female frame. Unrelated rant... Retirement benefits should really be on some sort of adjusted scale based on TYPE of service, not just time. A guy doing 20 years as an admin specialist or one of the various technical fields, is having a completely different career from a guy at one of the Batts, at Group, or even putting in 20 as a straight leg 11B.

@@orlock20 Actually, yes. I have a fixed wing multi-engine commercial rating and rotary wing rating, along with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering and Masters in Systems Engineering. But, that's beside the point. All through my career (and before), we've had females scattered throughout SOCOM. They were in positions where it made sense, and there was no need to lower overall standards for them to qualify "on the same standard". An athletic female doesn't need any special treatment to make it through WAFT, qualify for the 160th, and be functionally on par with their male counterparts. It's a fairy-tale that females are able to perform on an ODA, TPT, SEAL team, PJ Team, or in a 75th platoon, etc... at the same level as their male counterparts. I don't care how much the PC movement wants it to be true, how many serving NCOs and Officers want to go along with the narrative... it's a lie. We ALL know it's a lie. Deep down you know it's a lie. But most people are more than happy to lie to the world, and even themselves, if it allows them to portray themselves as virtuous and some type of elevated thinker.

It's never helpful to say that women are good if they make it because fanatical political forces in lib govt are going to MAKE IT so that she gets a passing grade in diagnostic...ranger or whatever. And then you're stuck with her...all 5'4", 122 lbs, 15%+ body fat...that was size of two West Point women that "made it" thru RNG school years ago, followed btw by a 37-yr old reservist AUNT. All it takes are willing women who are either ideological on crashing the "old boys club" and political generals (or admirals) who have their marching orders, if they want to see their next star. And no one speaks out The other problem is, once women are selected for these courses, they are not going to let them all keep failing out. This will happen...because feminists n this struggle long ago and commando units are targets they can't pass up...and they have all the time and political power in the world to get what they want. Laugh? Okay. Just remember in fall '97, GI Jane was all but a cartoon. Today, it's pretty much reality...not legitimately but it's being forced and they are finding weak, willing accomplices IN UNIFORM to make it happen. This is just beginning. And in the non-commando units (the big units- where major wars are won and lost -assuming, that is, your political masters haven't already agreed not to win) like infantry and armor and artillery, with men all over the place. They can't even agree on a flippin' PT test in those branches because of the gender chaos. Insanity. The "one standard" promise is a myth. Remember (and they did this in fed law enforcement in the late '70s), once the expensive process has been undertaken to get them in training, powers-that-be aren't going to want to see them all punched out. At FBI Academy way back then, under army old five-event test, every swinging gal failed out. Politicians were furious and more work men were sent and they all failed. In a matter of weeks after that, TWO standards were adopted ..ONE MALE, ONE FEMALE...and those in the pipeline were greeted at Quantico with their own separate girly test. You see, the door had been kicked open and it was never going to be shut again, no matter how many lies and con jobs and cowards in Washington it took. The speaker keeps making reference to world class athlete. Again, that might fly on some anti-septic diagnostic but not real life.

Female personnel with specific skill sets and qualifications should be placed into SF Support Groups alongside applicable males. They can serve on teams as attachments when relevant. "But when would they ever be relevant hurrr durrrr". Yes well, granted a lot of the time there likely wouldn't be a reason to choose them over a guy however.... If they do happen to have a specialism that they're really good at, more so than a male, e.g. specific obscure dialect or branch of medicine or engineering they could be attached. Then there's also the golden niche that very much favors females in a lot of contexts, namely Special Reconnaissance. Women can do things and go places that guys can't. It's a simple fact and sometimes having a female would be beneficial. Also if we're really being honest adults.... We know they get used on the quiet in special recce anyway. Yeah it's not officially, it's alluded to a lot but let's be fucking honest anecdotes gain a bit of validity when volume comes into play, we know they get used. So lets use them officially, as and when, they're useful. Exercised with pragmatism it's a win-win.

The Americans have so many, literally so many special groups, they tend to get butthurt when we say SF because of Green Berets and Special Operations distinctions and hurr durr but the rest of the world uses SF as an umbrella. The point being though the US has so many specials there's like half a dozen in each of the branches, there's some in reserves, the intelligence agencies have them, there's some that transcend and attach on and off, there's literally so much utility and opportunity for a female with a specific skillset or qualification to shine, the US should be the easiest place for it in principle.

Reason being the first female to past Ranger school was infertile after attending the school among other changes to her body and mind.

And she didn't even complete it to the same standards as the men. The Army just wanted a female west pointer to strut around and deflect from all the other issues at the time.

By all terms of successful completion of Ranger school she failed completely, but was pushed to pass for optics of equity. Equity is not equality its forced equivalents.

I think the best comparison would be if you had an ODA or SEAL team made up entirely of females and you dropped them in Ramadi 2006, would they be as capable and effective as an all male counterpart? would any commander have the same faith in them?

Vikings absolutely did not have women in combat. It's a misconception stemming from fiction. There's never been anything IRL like a shield maiden

If they prove themselves by the same standards men have to i dont see why not but in no way shape or form should standards be lowered to accommodate anyone regardless of gender

Women in the S.O.F. , is it necessary? I understand Israel's reasons , They need it because it's necessary. Us doing it is a social experiment and in my opinion not necessary.

I say it all the time if a female is to make it thru sof selection process she'd deadass have to put out alot more than her male compadres jus to keep up let alone exceed them physically... Question is is it worth it? Her body will have to change and readjust so much that she really will hardly be a female afterwards. She wont be able to have kids and do all the other things most women class as things a woman should do thats for sure. If she's willing to sacrifice all that makes her a female and put her self thru that then by all means let her be there... but how many women want to or even can make that sacrifice

Yeah I mean there was a woman in the Swedish SOG, she described it as most woman have childbirth as number 1 most painful experience in their life, for her child birth was 2nd behind selection… also when you hear her she is quite masculine 😅

The facts are the facts it's as simple as that. Women and men are built differently geneticslly for certain things and carrying heavy loads on our shoulders is our thing but women can carry weight around their waists because their biological design is to carry babies to term. The other obvious point you two gents pointed out is men will instinctively protect the women who wee will always see as weak and vulnerable but in the end it comes down to who can pass the standards set. If they pass and then during the selection course that pass has to be weighed up with the potential problems that will effect the unit as a whole not just her. And that has to be explained to women before they attend selection.

There's only about 600 women in the entire military in combat arms. Less than half of those have even been in combat. But every time I see one of these comment sections, there's dozens of guys who served with one of these 300 some odd unicorns white knighting for them. Makes me awful dubious.

Women in 75th Rangers? Sure. Women in SEALs? No Problem. But Special Forces? I do see a problem. It's not that they can't perform as well as the men, but part of the S.F. mission is to go to third world countries and train the people there. The problem is that the men there will think that women are not good for anything except cook, clean and have babies. The idea of getting guerilla warfare training from a woman would be abhorrent to them, no matter how capable or accomplished she is.
