This is the essence of British humour in pointing out what is ridiculous in some parts of society and making fun of ourselves "Taking the piss". British comedy will either use sarcasm or over exaggerate stereotypes to highlight sexism, racism, homophobia even when people are not aware they are guilty of thought's or actions.

I think this kind of British comedy went over your heads a bit. It's an extreme example of an old belief, and the target is the bigoted and ignorant males in the film. This was made back when people could take a joke. Also known as the 90s.
@chrischarlescook
@chrischarlescook 2 жыл бұрын
@Nick Sullivan She instantly had her back up. You could see she was trying to keep calm and focus on it being a joke. Which is all it is. There's no malice. No secret undertone of misogyny. Just a joke. People need to get a sense of humour. It didnt need a serious discussion. If you watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail, you dont need a discussion about lack of horses portrayed in the film, or weight carrying limits of birds. ITS JUST A JOKE. "Hey, why did the chicken cross the road?" "I dunno, but did you know 10 million birds are killed every year crossing major roads? And what does Biden do to help? NOTHING!" "Oh, forget it".
@johnnyjohnny8636
@johnnyjohnny8636 2 жыл бұрын
She clearly knows its a joke, but if it starts a serious conversation, what does it matter to you? Seems like you're the one getting triggered. Also jokes are usually funny precisely because they hold a grain of truth and I'm sure a lot of women out there have run into the modern equivalent of this situation before, so why not discuss it?
@stevemarks9360

This is a spoof of British "how to behave" films from the 1930s. It helps to understand that there was a serious British "how to behave" film telling people not to run on a city street. In the film, a woman is running on a street when two workmen carrying a large pane of glass was about to turn the corner and collide with the unsuspecting woman.

Good Reaction from this 68-year-old Englishman from South East London. I always "marvel" :) at how ANY pair of Women on a train who have got on the train together can spend the whole journey from start to their destination without a pause. It's quite an "Art", er,I think. Around 3 years ago b4 the pandemic I was the only Guy on a weekday train and there were 5 pairs of Women on the train around me and I never saw a pause in any of their conversations for the 25 minutes I accompanied them all:) THAT WAS a loaded question. What is he going to say ?? "I prefer dumb Women!". What would his companion think as she is with him:)

Most countries actually used the gold standard. Paper money couldn't be printed beyond what gold a country had. Britain stopped using it 1931 the USA in 1933. France, Switzerland, Italy and Belgium in 1936. Germany actually stopped it during World War 1 - they printed bonds in expectation of a German victory and the losers paying their war costs. They went back to it and desperately tried propping up their currency before admitting defeat in the same year as Britain

I absolutely love Jodi's reaction. I know some ladies that would have shut this off big time. We all know it's a joke but they are making jokes about things that were happening back then, unfortunately. However, the men would have never brought that up around the women because after dinner they always had their cocktails and cigars for men only where this subject would be talked about. So, while this skit does it in the women's face, back in the day men used to just do it behind their back. It was like :go talk about your embroidery and crochet while we talk about important matters." Never see that today. I like an intelligent woman. It is making a mockery of what was the accepted view of behavioural norms in I guess the 50s and back. Hilarious 💪

I remember government public information films of the 1950's and they were nothing like as "wacky" as this very funny spoof. They were usually about encouraging safe driving, not dropping litter, taking care crossing the road etc etc. and actually worthwhile. They encouraged people to have a social conscience rather than manifest selfish behaviour which is so prevalent today.

Although I loved this. Next time you react to music,PLEASE check out Sydnie Christmas in Britains Got Talent. It’s an old but well known song,but her version JUST might blow your mind. It’s “Tomorrow” from a brilliant American film. Do it,PLEASE!!!

I don't know why this video, and some other random videos were coming up my search results for *Bad Boy Chiller Crew* a few minutes ago, and I don't know why you mainly seem to react to Bollywood stuff, however... Check out: *Bad Boy Chiller Crew - BMW (French The Kid, MIST, Bugzy Malone Remix)* It's currently trending at *number 1* on *KZbin Music UK.* It's spent all of the last 10 weeks since its release trending in the top 4 on *KZbin Music UK,* with 8 of those 10 weeks split 50/50 between *1st and 2nd place.* The *Bad Boy Chiller Crew* are from *Bradford* where half-Pakistani Asians like *Zayn Malik* and *Dynamo* magician are from. Some other *Asian artists* from *Bradford* include: *Blazer Boccle, S-Dog, G Bugz, Blocka, HD, Yung C, Kingz 365, T-Zer, SK21, H3 Sparta, Faisal, Fusion* etc, and biggest of all the Sikh brothers *RDB Rhythm Dhol Bass* (Surj RDB, Manj Musik, and the late Kuly) who have collaborated with people like *Snoop Dogg* and *Ludacris,* and produce music for *Bollywood Films.*

Seemed to make perfect sense to me I believe the latest research suggests if women receive too much education it raises their testosterone levels significantly and causes beard growth and general unattractiveness, ah well girls can't be helped.

The 'thing' with European satire (mostly Swedish/English) is that it strikes in the right direction, upwards. Let us experience past 'sins'. SOME (read militant feminists) take it literally
