Watch the entire exclusive Mental Health Month video mini-series here: open.spotify.com/show/0n43TTk... and
Follow Women of Impact on Spotify here: open.spotify.com/show/2Pv6X6i..., to hear additional mental health-related content throughout the month.
On Today's Episode:
One of the worst experiences in a woman’s love life is the moment she wakes up to the reality of a verbally abusive, toxic, or unhealthy relationship. It’s so easy to get swept away in a relationship where love turns into a loss of confidence, strength, and a general sense of self.
You know this channel is about empowering you to be the hero of your own life. We want you to have the confidence you need to keep fighting for your dream. This episode in particular is a reminder that you have to know your worth to go after the dream you want and deserve.
Marina Worre turned her life around from lost and broken to ultra successful and badass. Marina is CEO of Network Marketing Pro and serial entrepreneur that started her first business at 18 years old. In spite of being brilliant enough to start a business at 18, love can really throw us all off course in life. She lost herself and came back to build a stronger, wiser, even more capable Marina 2.0 that now inspires millions of women around the world.
This conversation scores high on relatability and total badassery. Marina and Lisa discuss what it took for Marina to arrive at the “I’m done” point of an abusive situation, the power of the thoughts you’re repeating to yourself, right now, and how to start building your own empire of confidence.
QUOTES:
“The sooner we become inner-driven the better it's going to be for our future.”
“As far as I know, there’s only two ways that I know of to get a seat at the better table. You either need to earn your way into it, [...] or you can buy your seat at the table.”
We are responsible for our own emotions and our experiences through life. Nobody can make you happy.”
“When you make a decision to change your life or to do something special or start that new project that you always dream of or start chasing your goals and dreams, the universe is going to see if you’re for real or full of sh*t.”
“98% of the population is afraid of failing, not recognizing that the failure is part of the success.”
“If you keep moving forward one step at a time, if you keep pushing forward one step at a time, if you keep facing your fears, one fear at a time, you will get there. You will absolutely get there, just don’t stop.”

Wow youre telling me my life story. I also came to that breaking point. And I did it. I got away from that abuse. I am now President of my Community and polítician in a party. We are soooo valid. Just hidden under that abuse. You only realize once you get away. Be strong . It CAN be done. Just prepare yourself to build up strength to do It.

I have spent a life of compromise. That was what I was taught, put everyone else b4 you, don't be selfish. It is a big price paid by me. I have questioned my married life for years. Then along came channels like this, full of information, direction and no bs. I no longer carry other ppls baggage, nor am I the doormat. I look after me first, second and third. 😊

From this point forward what you chose is up to you and that may include painful lessons, but that is part of the uncertain adventure of life. It will also encompass rewards. They are worth it because you are worth while. They are worth it: the lessons and the rewards, because you are. Someone in your future might be blessed by the courage you embody now. And they will be worth it because you were now.

What a gorgeous guest and beautiful women! Earned strength is amazingly beautiful. It starts so slow and it can be so insidious... They don't necessarily say those words in that order... But they are constantly correcting every choice you make - what to have for dinner or where to eat... To the way you go poty or the way you breathe...it's not that it's wrong, just that they feel compelled to correct you to tell you how you could be better... Or should be... They eat your choices and decisions for dinner. Putting you down is what feeds them. Bullies.

Lisa - gold "right now" right now is what matters. You couldn't have known, then, or didn't have the support you needed, but from this moment on, you get it and you get it. Now, what? From this moment on, from now that you're learning...

Lisa, your channel is great! All the women here presented are total bad asses, dominating the world. I am wondering if it is possible to invite guests like Tonier Cain and similar of - women, who have experienced addiction, prostitution and homelessness and then turned motivational speakers. I understand it's a very difficult and not a glamorous topic, however it is definitely an inspiring journey that will represent and give hope to women stuck in these situations (there's more of them than you may think). I hope this comment will have a reach and give some ideas. Thank you for your work!

Wow. Then that's why I am called selfish. I'm working on myself to raise up to that level, to be of that level of strength, to match up to the partner's level. If that is "selfish", then so be it.

I just don't understand why people still think to themselves that it's a better Idea to stay in an unhealthy relationship, inevitably teaching their kids how to continue unhealthy cycles in their future relationships, as opposed to living a healthy and happier fulfilled life as a separated parent.🤔🤦

Hell yes,, if there's not a level of parity between you then what on earth.... When did your life become less valuable than his - did all those girly dreams come true and you woke up one morning a glorified housekeeper, chef and babysitter. One of the most amazing guys I ever worked with shared his life with his wife and child, he cooked, he cleaned, and he took time off in half term holidays. Question everything regularly alter your direction sooner rather than when you discover you are in France when you set out for Jamaica.

Professor Mark Leary, Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University explains "there are two forms of a gene that is related to the neurotransmitter serotonin. Under normal circumstances, people with these two different forms of that gene, called alleles, don’t act differently. When they experience highly stressful life events, people with one form of the gene are likely to become depressed, whereas those with the other form of the gene don’t become depressed. Imagine that we have two siblings, each with a different form of this gene. Also, imagine that the family experiences some very stressful event-the parents become unemployed, there’s a death in the family, or the parents start fighting. Differences in this gene may lead the two children to respond very differently to the same family event." Source: Shared Environments, Different Personalities, WONDRIUM DAILY, October 20, 2019
