Faster and better results or possible a curved gouge! Liked the results but I will try this using a detail knife, v-tool and u gouge and let you know how it turns out!

In my humble option your almost exclusive use of a straight chisel caused your to make a bunch of extra cleanup cuts and a v-tool would have given faser

It's basswood

We used PVA wood glue

No, we just use a paper pattern on the wood

Please be careful and wear cutting gloves because relief carving can be dangerous for beginner wood carver!
