I’m definitely going to knit the Micah’s Raglan Sweater for my grandson. I had previously made him the Flax Pullover Worsted and he loved it so much that he insisted on sleeping in it. He is only 2.3 years old and my heart is exploding with happiness that he loves his Nana’s knits. 😊

I'm fairly certain the headband is done in half fisherman's rib aka shaker rib. It's a nice squishy fabric. 😊 No snow to speak of in the Catskills of NY, but the wind has been ripping for days and it is arctic temperatures well into the negative numbers. I swear my teeth are on edge from listening to the wind for so long! Hope your new year was wonderful, ladies.
@woolandwine13 күн бұрын
I agree that the headband is like fisherman’s rib. It’s nice you didn’t get the snow but the wind 💨 and arctic 🥶 temperatures make it difficult to be outside for any length of time. Bbbrrr! Happy New Year and May it be filled with health and happiness! 🧶🍷

My New Year’s Eve cast on was the “Kore” cardigan in shoppel ALB Lino 85/15 wool linen. As I’ve just moved past the front back increases and onto the sleeve increases, I’m both excited and impatient as well lol the fingering garter equals slow growing garment for me! You guys have been ridiculously prolific knitters this year! All the great things and yummy wines too!
@woolandwine14 күн бұрын
I’m so glad that you casted on the Kore cardigan. I agree it is a slow growing garment and will make a nice long lasting garment. The yarn you’re using looks beautiful and will be a nice cool garment for the summer and fall. We’d love to see pictures of your progress if you’d like to show us via our email link in the show notes. Thanks for sharing! Happy knitting! 🧶🍷

Hey Girls! Great stuff. Tami, I am curious to hear about your experience with the Rowan. I knit with that exact yarn last month and I just found it to shed so terribly. I ended up donating it. I loved the fabric and the feel but the fibers were all over my clothes. Not sure this would have been helped by blocking or not. Happy Knitting.
@woolandwine13 күн бұрын
Hi Cheryl! I knit a sweater in Rowan Felted Tweed several years ago and it has been great. I definitely blocked it though, I always do. Claudia has also made a couple of sweaters in Felted Tweed and loves them. It does shed while knitting but so many yarns do. You might want to try again and block your project when it’s finished. Hugs! Tammi

I am a big fan of Rowan felted tweed. I have done a couple of projects with it and have some now to do a Hoodola hood.
@woolandwine2 күн бұрын
Good morning and Claudia here. I have been working on my cinnamon and bourbon, which is Rowan felt a tweed. I don't notice it shedding that much, definitely not like mohair. I just blocked the bottom and I absolutely love the way it blocks out. It is so soft and flowy. Give it another try. In my opinion, it's definitely worth it.

Kathy, The wine was delicious and is: Antico Feudo Toscano Ricasoli 2019. You can check with your local wine store and see if they have it or can order it. We use the Vivino app and you can buy wines through the app also. Cheers! 🧶🍷
