Yea honestly the Jades is the biggest upgrade that I have on my Wooting, the stem wobble of the lekker switches is what made the switches have that annoying rattle and empty sound, the jades basically solves all of that and actually made me love typing on Wooting again instead of just using it as a glorify game controller.

@@jonathanmoreira8930 no but im assuming tis roughly the same, the lekker switches just have bad tolerance, the gap between the stem and housing is just too wide and make a rattling sound.

@@jonathanmoreira8930 also i know there are ppl who say its a lubing issue, I have hand lube all by l60 and they are marginally better but the rattle is still very noticeable. whereas the jades are clean out the box and the tolerance is comparable to most of the good traditional switches. I haven't tried the raptors HE but I heard they are a good alternative if you don't like the Jades for some reason.

Did u replace ur stabs with ur wooting 60he when u installed the jades? Cos for me i have the stock stab on 60he+ and installed the jades, but ive been getting an issue with my spacebar were it would lift up, if i press down on the left or right side of it...

Do you know how they compare to the Lekker L45 switches? On paper they seem to have similar stats, though the total travel seems to be 3.5mm for Jade and 4mm for L45. Wondering if they feel any different. My L45's are uber smooth from the factory lube, and get some deep thocky sounds with them + PC plate and a tape mod.

Honestly, my opinion now is that all switches are trash compared to Jades, because Jades have some major changes. There is no hole at the bottom and I also think that the bottom out of the stem happens slightly earlier. All of that makes for a good feeling proper mechanical keyboard switch. They also don't wobble and make any extra noises like Lekkers do. The lubing process should be similar for all of these switches since they are all made by Gateron. This is, of course, simply my opinion, but I'm sure you will notice a difference in feeling right away. I tried white switches from Gateron before, that have the same structure as Lekkers and trust me, no amount of lube or plates will make them as good as Jades.

@@sacrosouls Wow that's a strong recommendation! I know what you're talking about with wobble for the L60 Lekkers that come with Wooting keyboards. However, I noticed a big difference with the L45's. My pack at least don't wobble noticably, are also smooth and quiet due to the factory lubing. Really impressed by them, but always looking for an upgrade 🤓. Maybe I'll get the Jades anyway, thaks for the information!

​​@@everything-bagelI have upgrade from my L60 to L45 switches. In my opinion, performance-wise the Lekker 45 switches are the best for the Wooting. To me, my L45 switches are pretty much silent. If you want to go for more of a clicky sound then get the Jades, but I feel like the Jades are more of a clicky/clacky sound than thocky...

@everything-bagel I can confirm they are clickier (not thocky) than the L45 switches. Lekker switches are silent compared to the Jades. But like I said if you prefer sound get the Jades. Imagine 2 pool balls hitting each other. I have my Wooting in a Tofu60 aluminum case, factory wooting foam + 3mm porofoam, 2 layer tape mod, upgraded polycarbonate plate. So I would say my keyboard is pretty sound dampened.

Well "their brand" of switch is actually produced by Gateron. Any switch that is made to physically fit on the keyboard and that also has a magnet will work fully with all of the Wooting features. I installed the white Gateron hall effect switch before, it worked just as the original one. And now I installed the Gateron Jades and I still am able to utilize all of the features of the keyboard. The thing is, Wooting has special sensors in the PCB that will work based on whatever settings you enable. So the switch only has to have a magnet in it.

hi, in my experience the spacebar is perfectly balanced with these stabs I broke the original ones, which is why I went with 3rd party stabs in the first place, but I heard there are no extra changes required for jades in terms of pole length

First Wooting I've heard sounding decent. Left shift needs some stab tuning though.

@@yozo9679 I broke the original spacebar stab when I was changing keycaps, so I got 3rd party stabs Original 60HE only supports plate mount stabs, so I use these. You can find the name in the description But Wooting has recently released the 60HE module which supports screw-ins

How much does the car dampener help to improve the sound of the board? Do the switches sound good without the car dampener?

I'd say just go for some sound dampening material that is removed easily and decide for yourself. Car noise insulation is an ass to remove from the case.

How thick is the car sound insulation pad? Better yet why not do a video showing everything you used on the build?

The insulation pad is 2mm thick. I have made that build a while ago and installed Jades just recently and wouldn't want to disassemble it now for a video. I am waiting for a new case though (Freebird60), so I will make a video of building the keyboard in the new case. The car insulation is very sticky and I'm not even sure I can remove it completely from the case. So in the new build I might just use foam that comes with the case

@@albanzon sorry missed the question, I got mine from Aliexpress, but make sure to also get the countersink flat head screw kit (can get one from KBDfans), sometimes the plates come without any hardware to attach them

thanks for the comment not sure exactly about the performance, but I've been on 0.1mm setting from day 1 and I don't notice the difference, it's the same super light touch to trigger a keypress scientifically there could be a difference and on Gateron's website it says 0.2mm is the minimum setting. But the total travel distance is shorter as well (3.5mm compared to 4.0mm on Lekkers) so if I have to sacrifice 0.1mm of sensitivity distance, I'd choose Jades over any lekker switch any time :D

I use a poron foam that is (I think) a bit softer than the original foam that comes with the keyboard. I got it on aliexpress, try searching for "Wooting sound pack" if you want to check it out I also use the IXPE (some sort of material) switch pad from this pack

Just got the jades and tbh they are kinda just meh compared to non-hall effect switches. Non-long poles from Gateron in general are pretty ass both in sound and feel, and asking them to make a new switch with literally a hole in the bottom is like shooting themselves in the foot.

Of course they are lmao what were you expecting? A switch that both the most technically advanced AND the best sounding? No chance. These switches were made not to sound good, but to be technically advanced without sounding horrible. It’s a given that they don’t sound the greatest however they definitely are on par with some non HE switches which is more that what we’ve had before

@@ig7036 thanks for the comment! Yes, I've done some more stuff apart from the switches: I changed the plate to a POM one from Aliexpress. It is way softer than the original steel plate and I think it contributes to a nicer sound and feel greatly. The foam between PCB and the plate is also changed for one of the Aliexpress ones that are listed as "Wooting sound pack". Not sure it has much effect, but it feels like it would absorb more sound than the default one, but the plate does more to the sound than this foam for sure. I also modded the case with car noise insulation material. It is sticky and I basically filled the whole bottom space of the case with it, it does a really good job with reducing low end noises. Keycaps are GMK WoB, just FYI, don't know if they change the sound much but they feel very nice. I think the way that they are produced is better for typing feeling than some other keycaps. I also replaced the stabs, you can find their name in the description, but I'd say just lube and mod the stock ones properly first. I bought 3rd party stabs because I broke the spacebar stab when changing keycaps once.

their footprint is exactly the same as Lekkers', and in general they are made to be working for Wooting, it wouldn't make sense for these switches to not work with default stabs I think there's a lot of builds on reddit with these and default stabs

As for compatibility, Jades work perfectly fine without any adjustments, their footprint and fitting is exactly the same I'm not sure what kind of stabs they provide for the module, but if it's screw-ins I'd say tune them and leave them in

I think the switch itself is louder than the default one across the board. I have a POM plate and new foam inside the keyboard though, so it is way quieter than the stock Wooting.

Just keep in mind that this switch feels and sounds more like a proper mechanical keyboard switch, compared to a Lekker switch, which I personally find sounds and feels way worse due to its construction (hole at the bottom).

@@sacrosouls I just factchecked, turns out the Gateron Jades are designed to work on halleffect boards so the board itself wouldnt know if its got Jades or the stock ones... I assumed these switches are traditional contact based ones like the BOX Jades or the Wuque Jades so I thought you did some heavy modding on the stock PCB to make this work or just dropped in a different one altogether, my bad.
