Hank told my Earnhardt story. i had my 2 young nephews with me one day and we went to the track, just to show them the track. well there was Dale practicing. we watched for a bit and then we saw Dale spin out, except it wasn't Dale. Hank pulled down pit row and parked, then here comes Dale to pick at Hank before he got out of the car. i told my nephews to holler at Dale and wave. they hollered real loud and Dale straightened up and looked up at us and waved to them. that's a good memory for me.

i am a lifelong new yorker and an earnhardt super fan. it saddens me that so many east coasters call southerners rednecks. hank parker is funny, wealthy, and very very smart.

Not to mention all of the other interesting history & trivia that involves various people. For example: Who knew that Hank Parker, a man I always loved to watch fishing & joking around on Hank Parker's Outdoors decades ago, once owned an entire race team & stable of cars, with a star driver like Neil Bonnet on board in the Busch ( "Exfinity" ) series, for Neil to drive, Hank to drive part time & plans both of their sons being mentored to eventually drive full time, and how the whole thing went out the window with Neil's sudden death. I sure as hell never would've imagined.

I used to love watching Hank Parker and his fishing shows back in the day.... actually my favorite fishing show to this very day... with a close second being Bill Dance. In my humble opinion Hank should be a reoccurring guest on this podcast.... he is a very interesting guy to listen to.

I live up by Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia and used to work doing home improvements all over the area here and Martinsville was one place we used to get some homes to work on. No matter where we were working in Martinsville, we could always hear cars there practicing and or testing and would always take lunch break at the track to see who was there....never got to see your dad there practicing or testing! Sure wish I had...he was who I pulled for since the first time I saw him, back in the latter half of the 1980s. This interview with Hank's been one of your best, if not the best one yet Dale & Mike.....keep em coming and we'll be looking forward to who yall bring on next!

Hey Dale Jr. I have watched all the Hank Parker interviews you have done. I have watched nascar for decades usually right by myself and also used to watch some fishing shows and always gravitated towards the Hank Parker show years ago and never did I once put the two together. Fishing show Hank P. Nascar Dale Sr. What a small world after all. This has been some of your best shows yet. Good stuff.

Harry Gant and that Skoal Bandit car was my favorite driver as a kid. Hank Parker was my favorite fisherman and I bought his spinnerbaits that Mann made. The best part is I’m from upstate NY. None of my friends didn’t even know what NASCAR was or that there was such a thing as a professional bass fishing. It was like living in another country 😂

When I first saw the "Hank Parker episode" I thought this may be one I could skip. SO glad I didnt! One of the best Downloads yet. However, was there intent or purpose in the fact that you guys didnt ask Hank specifically about that terrible day in Feb 2001? I'd love to have heard his experience and how he navigated the loss of his good friend.
