A simple-minded individual wouldn't expect to get fired playing on the job. I haven't had to deal with anything like this, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to end up in the background of anyone's video . If you don't like the companies policies you don't have to work there. But not working because i can't record and post from the job, is Ridiculous

Social media is a double edge sword, so it must be used with extreme caution ! I'm starting to believe that one of the factors why companies aren't hiring as much especially millennials and gen z due to their constant online presence, some employers may see them as a liability risk. As an woman, I get so super nervous whenever I see women showing their worker's badge, wearing their uniform or displaying their place of work on social media publicly because they're placing themselves in harms way of a possible stalker/attacker. I believe people need to be more discreet about their content because digital footprint is a real thing and can be harmful. If people want to do a viral trend, then they need to seriously consider talking with their manager and HR department before posting anything.

The problem is that we are undoubedtly in a recession that has caused people who haven't even considered themsleves working class to find out that they're not too far from becoming homeless themselves. Latto, and artists in general, have deliberately played in people's faces by trying to alude to the idea that they're just giving people a sense of levity and "escape" with their classist music when they're literally dangling a carrot (in this case, $10,000) in front of people and causing hysteria as a result. It's not the people's fault that they're trying to get out the hood and risking it all as a result. Latto, and the industry as a whole, know that. And they dont care. They care about making their songs go viral while companies care about their bottom line, and if any of these companies were to receive positive press through the videos they may have fired employees over, they would reap the benefits without even allowing said employees another chance. That's not ok.

In my opinion, she was fired because recording at her workplace was like showing video evidence of her not working. If she had gotten permission, it might have been a different situation. However, if she had recorded outside of work, on her personal time, that would have been a completely different story.

No. Waffle House is completely stupid to fire that woman. It was a great production & free advertising She will get snapped up by a decent employer Waffle House will continue to devolve, chewing thru employees If you hadn't noticed, a LOT of companies are shifting gears, away from discarding decent employees

Companies don’t need that type of attention of all their workers pulling out their phones and going Live when they’re supposed to be working

This remind of the ICK challenge that a lot of nurses did and several of them ended up getting fired. It’s easy to just jump on the social media bandwagon but you have to be careful especially when doing not work related activities in your uniform and posting it on the internet. People make these celebrities famous and the celebrities turn around and mock the same “brokey” that made them famous 🥴
