Great series Michael. As an editor and colourist in the UK who's worked a lot remotely but more in a hybrid sense, there are a lot of good insights here. Great to see such a range of interviewees from different post production fields too! Something I've found myself not being able to do without since lockdown, is a means of automated backup. As a long time PC user, the best solution I've found is Cobian Gravity, paired with a dependable NAS or RAID. It's old software but it's rock solid, free and provides a lot of different backup plans and schedules. Highly recommended and makes it a lot easier to keep track of versions and provides some redundancy and piece of mind, when you're at home and without the safety net of a facility. Thanks mate!

This has been really insightful. Would love to see the same synchronous conversation for real time edit review/collaboration and the ability to do that with multiple people in session - ie: Editor with live editing ability being shared with upward of 5-7 people - Director, Producers, network and or studio executives.

This is invaluable. Thank you for all of this info. I'm hoping to do a grading session in the coming month and it just became so much more doable. I'm wondering if you all have thoughts on how we all can become more connected for finding work and collaborators in our new working from home life. Thanks!

Hey, thank you for this video - great job! I’m setting up to make a docu-series in Bali and exploring ways to work remote with a colorist in Melbourne, an editor in Singapore and a v/o artist in Denver with me based in Bali. I can see this working across most of the workflow but just wondering about audio. We’re on DaVinci Resolve Studio btw. Is it possible with Frame IO to also do a remote V/O session with our narrator voicing ‘to picture’ and us monitoring the session and providing input on his delivery? I realize these days this is not the norm, but I am old school and still prefer to do it this way so we get it right as we go - not with myriad revisions back and forth. Would appreciate advice on this. Cheers.

Hey Michael, thanks for that great video! What about FX plugins? I guess they have to be installed on both systems... (?)
