This is pure gold. Not only an escape but a route to their back! Thank you Coach

Hey coach, I love your approach to explaining the techniques. I like how you always extract the most fundamental principles behind complicated techniques: momentum, space, hand fight, hand positioning... Just enough detail to keep the fun. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Great recap! I've used this several times since I first saw it, but the guys I train with are wise to it and swim through.. LOL

As a white belt with only eight months of experience, I’ve been using these tips and they’ve been real game changers. Each one of these details works amazingly well. I’ve been pretty surprised at how well I can escape the back to the point where I’ll often allow myself to get there with some people as a staging point to better my position.

Does this only work with the body triangle or can you do it if they just have hooks in?
@eliasschneeberger1337 Жыл бұрын
Why do you call the underhook side the weak side? We learned the straightjacket system of john danahar recently and he says to fall on the underhook side
@TeachMeGrappling Жыл бұрын
Weak side got its name long ago. The majority of grapplers prefer weak side to strong side because of the ability to control and attack with so many options. It’s called the weak side because the choke is more difficult to apply from that side as opposed to the other side (strong side). Trapping an arm is better on weak side though so it improves the choke a lot. Armbars are great on weak side… arm triangles are great from strong side. It’s just a way to describe the positions. I never think weak side is “weak” however I happen to prefer strong side.
