Hi Jodie and Folley absolutely loved this vlog. Listening to your brother actually made sense about a healthy relationship with food, and the struggles of trying to lose weight. If I go on a diet all I think about is my next meal but when telling myself I’m eating healthier I tend not to overindulge. I just wish I had the motivation to do meal prepping but get stuck in a rut, if there is anyone out there that can give me some different ideas I would be very grateful. Jodie would love to see more of these wee chats with your brother. Take care lovely lady 🌻🌻🌻x

Thank you Jodie and your brother for discussing this, I love that you are both promoting “Good Health” it is such an important subject especially these days where people’s mental health are deteriorating. I have ADHD, I didn’t realise why I couldn’t get my shit together and just keep the weight off, unfortunately all the bad foods gave me a dopamine boost and I just craved them. In January I decided to leave my toxic job, get my mental health back on track and get myself healthy again. I am 48 and didn’t want to hit 50 in such poor health. I did not weigh food, I did not meal prep ( too hard if you have ADHD) I just switched to whole foods, absolutely nothing processed. My main meal consists of veggies and protein. I eat Greek yogurt all kinds of fruit, dark chocolate occasionally as long as I make it myself from scratch I eat it. I was so disappointed at first that the weight wasn’t coming off quick enough but with only 30 mins exercise 3 days a week and being consistent for 8 months I have totally changed my relationship with food, dropped 3 clothes size and no longer pre diabetic along with other issues. It’s hard at times but now I enjoy my balanced lifestyle and once you get rid off all that processed food and sugar you start to feel happy and healthy therefore don’t binge eat anymore. Also a table spoon of apple cider vinegar before your meal will help with insulin spikes I suppose I just wanted to say I understand it’s important to love yourself but also important to be around as long as possible for your family Well done Jodie for addressing this and I wish you every success on your healthy journey. Will most definitely be following your brother on instagram. Much love ❤x

@@suzanmehmetmclean5461 wow Suzan what a journey you have had and look how far you have come with a bit of hard work and consistency 💪 you should be so very proud of yourself. My youngest son has ADHD too and i hear what you said about food giving you a dopamine boost, I haven't got my head around how my son can consistently eat and crave unhealthy foods. I always cook whole foods but he moans and refuses to eat it. I would definitely like to learn more about this so I'm better equipped to help him. If you could direct me to where I can educate myself more on this topic I would be so grateful. Thank you so much for telling me your story, I'm so grateful to have such an amazing KZbin family xxx

Jodie you sound like me emotional eat chronic pain and just not caring the weight piled on. Tough love weighing food and calorie counting is a pain but it’s what helped me to understand why I was going wrong. No food is bad but portion is important. If you don’t keep yourself full you binge. My trainer does not tell me what to eat but my protein, fibre carbs and fats are targets I have to hit within my calories. Your bro is right having stuff stops the binge. Batch cook so I cook my protein for a few days same with the carb unless it’s quick and steam veggies is a game changer But more than anything you have to want to do it and it’s a mental struggle. One meal one day at a time. If you go over fine next meal back to what you want to do. You don’t have to justify why you want to lose weight. My track record of slimming clubs is horrific calorie counting saved me. I may not be able to do lots in the gym but it’s changed my life. What I’m struggling with is when I don’t go I miss it. Jodie you can do it but you need to do it yourself because I never listened to anyone. I’m heading to 11 stone off but it’s consistency that got me there. If you want it you can do it.

Great vlog. I am the opposite of you Jodie. I lose my appetite completely when I’m upset. I don’t want to see food if I’m worried, or if I get bad news. I try to eat as healthily as I can, without obsessing. I love ice cream, and chocolate, but I realize that I can’t eat it every day, so I follow my doctor and just keep it in perspective. He says all food is good food, but all food isn’t good for everyone. It all depends on your health. I learned that when my husband could no longer over indulge in Tomatoes, bananas, nuts, avocados, potatoes and other foods that are very good for people with good health, but are way too high in potassium for anyone who has high potassium. It’s hard work trying to stay healthy😍Thanks for sharing.

Here are a couple of Recipes: 1. Ingredients: Large onion, 4 large potatoes, 6 -8 chicken thighs, packet of Chorizo sausages. Method: Chop onion roughly, quarter potatoes. Arrange everything in an oven dish, pour over some chicken stock with half a teaspoon of turmeric, cover with foil and cook in over for 40-50 mins. Serve with a crusty roll (yes you can have one). 2. Ingredients: Tuna (in brine only), for a family maybe 2 tins, Beetroot, onion, handful of frozen peas. Method: Flake tuna in a bowl, chop beetroot and onion, add to bowl, throw in the peas, stir together then add a little of the vinegar from the beetroot. Pile this into the middle of a large salad. Take your time to eat. I eat a lot of Spanish food, why not find a good Paella recipe as you like rice. Good luck Sweetheart.
