Very good distance runners are very good at pacing. Like scarily good when they want to be. In Hicham El Guerrouj’s mile record, his half mile splits are: 1:51.58, 1:51.55

What was the lactate level measured in was it like mmol per litre or summat
@super8guy4 жыл бұрын
I was curious about that also, this is what Dr Google said: Normal results range from 4.5 to 19.8 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) (0.5 to 2.2 millimoles per liter [mmol/L]). Normal value ranges may vary slightly among different laboratories.

With a 2 minute rest and being an Olympian it seems doable
@philippides4 жыл бұрын
Yeah these are supposed to give the athletes some neuromuscular training, practicing with *somewhat* faster paces (64 second 400m is very relaxed for an Olympian) while keeping his lactic acid low. The low end of the normal range is 4.5. High end is over 15. After three repeats, this guy's at 6.7. His breathing is barely elevated.

maybe the best way to analyse training (for all sports) it gives you the exact answear of how hard your pushing. my guess is when most runners do lactate thereshold workouts they are well above 4.0mmol in lactate and therefore are working to hard

Well that also means you're getting less information. Depends who and what the person is training for and who needs this info to help them improve
