The T54E1 pretty much stomps the amx 50 120 in everyway. The only advantages it has is better accuracy, penetration and slightly more damage. I still like the 50 120. the 54E1 has better armor, mobility (yes 50 120 can go faster but can never achieve that speed quickly or reliably), aiming time, rate of fire, gun depression, and view range. So it justs seems like its no contest. You have more versatility on the 54E1. Its my opinion yours may differ.

IMO the T21 is not a painful grind either. It basically has the T49's gun (and it's insane DPM). In tier 7 and 8 games you can rack up a lot of damage with standard ammo. It also has awesome gun depression (much better than T71) whick allows you to pull off lots of cheeky shots while easily avoiding return fire. I enjoyed it a lot more than T71. Also, it doesn't have an autoloader which means you can switch between prem and standard ammo more easily than with T71.

This line has been a joy to grind even from stock. The t54E1 stock gun also gets an extra shell in the magazine compared to the t69 gun. It is quite capable from the beginning.

What really grabs my attention about these replays is the amount of skill he is not needing to put in. I have watched a fair number of his videos, and he is able to do so many things I wish I could do, but in these reviews he just positions well and then nothing can stop him. It seems a little unfair.

iamepic365 I apologize, I suppose I did not articulate my thoughts well enough. What I mean to say is, QB has the capacity to play well and win in many situations that I have seen. This should be obvious, if he was not a very skilled player why would people bother watching and listening to his reviews and advice? But in this video, the replays he shows, other than proper placement (which itself takes knowledge and skill to do), he has to use almost none of the skill he possesses. That is to say, with that the tank he is using it seems unfair. Or even more simply put, the T54E1 could be considered overpowered.

Pretty fair review. It shows that the T54E1 is a dangerous tank if played well but also a liability if tomatoed. I don't feel it is op, no more than T54, E75, these are just the cream of the tier 9 meds.

The penetration may seem low for both the AP and APCR rounds on the T54E1, but what people don't know is that the penetration loss on these rounds over distance is very small compared to its similar counterparts. At mid to long range your shells will have more penetration than the most of the tier 9 mediums. Not to mention the shell velocity is fairly high requiring you to lead less. The accuracy was an issue in pre-8.6 along with the other autoloaders. Post 8.6 however the accuracy problem has been greatly alleviated so you can get some consistent hits.

Actually the sloped strip of armor on the side of the IS-7 just under the turret is 150mm real armor, the flat strip below that is spaced with the 100mm inward angle behind it. That is the place you don't want to shoot. Ideally though the space between the hull and tracks is where you want to shoot since it is 100mm flat.

The grind to this tank is IMO one of the most fun in the game - after the M5 Stuart at tier IV I really enjoyed all of the tanks on this tree, even the M7 and the T21. The T69 is an incredibly easy tank to get high damage with and so the grind is quite painless.

I went up the bulldog line and I am now at the t49, and in my opinion it is a better line than the t71 line. They didn't have it when he did this review though. But generally speaking, all American lines (especially the lights) are very good. With the auto loader on the bulldog, you can absolutely devastate tier 8 and 9 tanks. I usually wait a few minutes into the battle and then sneak my way into the enemy base and take out and artillery and base campers by flanking them and using the 10 shots you get with the autoloader.

I have about 80 games on my 50 120 grinding towards the 50B, and really the only downside of the tank is the time in-between shots. 3.33 seems like eons compared to the 2.2 seconds the T54E1 gets, but I think it's balanced by the fact that the penetration is so much higher and the tank itself is ridiculously fast. The 50 120's armor is worse than that of the E1's, but neither tank should rely on its armor for anything other than troll bounces.

lack of ammo was never a problem for me, and i've done the grind to the t57heavy. it's rate of fire isn't any better than other tanks after all, just its burst damage is a little, shall we say, powerful =D.

In my opinion, T57H is a little bit different from T54E1 cuz it's slower and it's like a shell magnet that every enemy does everything to take u out ASAP. It should be played with much more caution.

Grinding for this tank on my NA account....Slowly. I did try it for about 4 battles on a friend's account a couple months ago, and I was dissapointed, it was slow, and all the shots I fired missed or did not penetrate - I was shooting at long range now I see that was my problem. Also, this was before this thing got the recent massive Alpha damage boost.

Quicky, next time when you do a tank review, in the garage part, could you also tell what guns could be fitted before you get the tracks. I know that the grind to get the tracks before anything else on a stock tank is bad with a stock gun. Maybe also tell what else you can put on the tank before you get the tracks such as an egine/radio/turret/equipment such things as that.

Quicky, when you get to do another review of a tank, could you also tell whether or not you can get the gun/engine/radio without getting the tracks on the tank first. I know a many of times when people could have got the gun before the tracks and they are just stuck there grinding more than they have to.

I like the T54E1. I did not like the T69 nearly as much (felt lackluster without HEAT, basically). Comparing the T54E1 against the AMX series autoloaders (50 100/120) - the AMX's are more reliant on their teammates since they have no armor whatsoever and relatively long reload times. The T54E1 can manage to bounce a shot at least, and thus have more inherent survivability. On a sidenote I think it's wrong that these tanks are classified as mediums or heavies. They are all support tanks who excel at backing up other tanks on the field.

Oh and I totally dont agree with you QB! I perform VERY good in my T57 heavy (got my ace tanker on my 17th battle) and i think that the only thing that the T54E1 and the T57 heavy match is the shape of the tank and their mobility. Everything else on the T57 heavy is better.

I love this tank!! Possible nerf since this video? Seems super soft for 1750!! I have gotta hide almost always otherwise 2-3 hits and im dead!!! I dont recall a bounce yet!! I know its tall and has weak spots in the turret but surviving a battle in this things requires me to hide and snipe!

If I have the chance, should I, using T54E1, aim at the enemy tracks (that can also does damage) or just go for damage? and let the enemy retreat to hiding? I know its a no brainer to aim at the track (that can cause dmg at the same time), but sometimes it makes the engagement a bit awkward. Then the enemy will focus on damaging us in T54E1 instead of trying to go for a hiding. If the enemy go for a hiding, they will not be focusing to damage us. How do you decide +quickybaby ?

Always go for the tracks if you can also damage the enemy. It makes them alot easier of a target for both you and your teammates, plus if your teammates damages him while you've tracked them you gain half of the xp of the damage your teammate did. Same with spotting.

I think its very powerful, but need teammate to give you a opportunity to deal damage. If your teammate can hole the line, there will be lots of chance to fire. Its mobility is good that make you to do some cheeky shot. T57H doesn't have that mobility but have more fire power.

I'm just learning how to use this tank...and I suck with it. I know it has huge potential, but it seems that some brains are needed to use it. Mainly to get it into positions where it can release it's multiple grenades to get maximal damage. However there must be safe place to reload and I just havent done this. Maybe I'm not smart enough to use this tank. I have about 25 battles done and still trying to understant how to make it how to find a balance between when to push aggressively and when to be more carefull without being too carefull. Very challensing tank to drive but seen how people do awesome results with it.

I actually would prefer if my T71 did not have an auto-loader. With a crew loader, I can train him up and get my reloads down. In autoloaders, you have a magazine of death, but once you run out, you better have a place to hide or you are screwed. If you want to take out us autoloaders, bait us into firing, then rush us on the reload.

It's fun watching autoloaders and then see people cling on to their "It's balanced!!!11" cries, when quite a few of them are hugely overpowered. This thing is not balanced at all. Not even close. Give a random tomato a T-54 and see how much average damage he does. Then give him one of these and check again. If it's balanced, a player should get the same average performance out of it.. *SPOILER ALERT!* Tomatoes with autoloaders do much more damage than tomatoes with realistic tanks.

Chromodar I want to balance it around everyone. Otherwise it's not balance at all. It's not just tomatoes doing twice the avg. damage in these things. I just mentioned tomatoes to show how extreme it is. An average player will do much more avg. dmg. in these things than in T-54 etc. as well. When you kill people during a reload, it has nothing to do with skill. The victim could be the best player in the world, but if he's reloading, he dies to tomatoe/average Joe/whoever using an autoloader. That's the biggest problem with them imo. You can't do a thing to stop it, and you saw that in this video as well. When he was shooting down from the hill, the enemies just melted with no hope of doing anything. Not due to lack of skill, but due to game mechanics. That's what killed them.

To be fair, pushing into that position was way too aggressive for them. The skill that would have saved them was not going there in the first place, especially when the tank above them had already been spotted. Lemmings funneling to their deaths. I think the problem with autoloaders is that it requires more teamwork to take them out safely than most other tanks, which in a game where teamwork is uncommon at best can lead to some frustration.

Chromodar That may or may not be the case, but if QB didn't have an autoloader, they could have taken a shot at him EVERY time he had to look out and shoot. With an autoloader he can unload while they're reloading with no risk and when they're done reloading, he's gone. That means they MAY hit him for ~300-400, then he hits them for ~1500. Then he reloads and pops out again.. They hit him for ~300-400 again and he does another ~1500. There is no balance at all, when that's the likely scenario. The simple fact that those enemies may have pushed a bit too far should not mean they all get automatically slaughtered with no hope of fighting back. If that's the case, this game will end up being all base camping. Why would anyone risk it? Playing aggressively like they tried to should be promoted imo. We want more action. Not more sitting in bushes.

Quickybaby (Or anyone else willing to answer), What do you think of the lower damage/higher speed and manouverability line in the russian TDs. Is it superior to the line with the ISU152? And which would you reccomend for someone who likes fast and manouverable tanks but also likes derpy high alpha guns. I hope someone may reply soon.

If you are a really good player, then I think the so called "lower damage higher speed line" is superior. You will be able to carry games with those when you wont with tanks like the ISU-152. BUT the pleasure of the BOOM -750hp you can have with the derpy line is quite unbelievable =). So I think it's up to you one line is about more technical gameplay but higher potential (at least from my point of view). And the other is about extremly high derpy-derp potential. I've just unlocked the ISU and i enjoy it a lot. Still i find myself in that very anoying situation when more often that you'd like to you are unable to carry and loose games because the team just wasn't good enough. Either line is fun but I think the "lower damage higher speed line" is superior for that.
