It doesn’t need a nerf. But the rest of CAs in the game deserve a buff to power creep the Petro. Maybe giving Zao a 50K HP with 203 HE shells that have the same treatment as IJN DDs. While also gain 30mm of deck armor.

You can see how low Petro hull was by using any camo and where the camo ends at the bottom. Would be great if they're gonna fix it, but at this point it kinda become bits of wows history.

After 2mil ship XP on Des Moines, I decided let’s try Petro but hated it! I just couldn’t figure out what all the fuss was about, it felt really mediocre to me. So I then reset the Petro line, definitief not for me! The most annoying thing to me was the useless short duration radar, guess im just spoiled with DM’s fantastic radar paired with its much higher DPM. So yeah, I went back to my good old DM in which Im still having the most fun and successful games (with unigue prop. mod). I guess the Petro’s playing style just doesn’t suite me, it’s completely different over American cruisers and don’t think I can get use to it.

I am with you. I have both ships and I honestly feel I can have significantly more impact on a match resulting in a win with the DM much more than Petro. DM is a lot more versatile... Definitely not as tanky but tons more versatile.

You are doing it more and more ...... "in the day" ..... its not in the day anymore and I'm not sure how many cares about things that are not relevant Sea Lord - 'was incredibly broken' now its not or less so at least. Having recently done the grind to the PETRO - maybe its not my style but she isn't such a OMG look out its a PETRO., its got its gimmicks like so many others, that's why WOWs is so fun, you can find a ship to meet your play style.

Bow tanking is when you keep your snout pointed at the enemy and depend on the RNG and suspect armor calculations to deflect enemy fire. Basically you commit the tactical error of letting the foe "cross the tee" and bring their full fire to bear on your face. It would be statistically fatal except WG is still figuring out what a ship is.

I wish someone would finally touch the oppiness of radars in this game. As a DD player I beg my team to focus those ships with radars over 10 km. This shit is busted and destroys the concept of building concealment on Dds

It bugs you anytime any ship has anything unique or special about it's gameplay. Petro was fine before the nerf-hammer, and now it's so boring and average that there is no reason to play it....and it still bugs you about the few things that bring it to average..... Hey, look at the bright side, if it can citidel bbs, then thunderer can be citideled by it... But oh, since you cried about those until they were nerfed no-one plays them anymore either.

I don't know about that, I ambushed a Petro in my Goliath once, never again... I sent 2 salvos of 12 x 234 AP shells and 4 single launched torpedos, everything connected.. it lived. I got dev striked with one salvo while angled... So I wouldn't say british ships counter it, can they farm it? Yes, but that requires the Petro to position poorly.

This is a ship that rewards excellent players. But there is a sharp learning curve. Can't recommend a nerf considering we wankers need to win once in a while.

The tier 12 russian CA that I hate to go one on one with, even with my GK (will lose 2/3 of health, at least). Total russian bias, Putin would have sent any developer to Siberia or out a Hospital window if russian ships didn't surpass any other ships.

Petro with legendary module is OP like back in the day citadel fest, only difference now since Petro sits higher on water line its not as tanky as it was still one of the most fun ships with Kuznetsov captain on board.

The Petro is a tier 8(the tier 9 of console), ship so she typically faces more ships of her tier and lower than tier legendary (console tier x).

@@TanNguyen-js7uv short radar duration + slow reload. Basically in petro you can only fire one salvo for its entire radar duration. Halland (and other DD that have heal) kinda can tank one salvo then recover back the armor, plus its torp has range longer than petro radar. Usually when detected by petro radar I simply wait for the radar duration to expire instead of firing back. In fact, do not fire back (unless within smoke) when gets detected by petro radar, as it will just extend the detected duration.

Petrol players normally park by an island bow in to an enemy and start farming them. Just use your super fast torps to at range to force radar use. As soon as radar is done, finish them off. Very easy to do. We've made a Petro, Moskva, Stalin division run away in CBs. They think 12km radar is God until 15km hyper torps teaches them who is the boss.

I don't know about the double Halland man. On EU server Typhoon level, the DDs alone seem good enough to absolutely murder two Hallands. And baiting Radar with torps _shouldn't_ really work, as Petro captains _should_ know which torps can outrange their radar.

i dunno... i feel like more cruisers need to have the guns like the petro. bbs are just way too untouchable in this game right now. the only thing a bb has to be afraid of is other bbs, and torpedoes. nothing else is really much of a threat to most bbs. yea some bbs can get farmed down by fires but a ton of bbs really can't, especially the super bbs.

Totally agree, there are many games where Cruiser players do everything right to take out BB's and the BB player in return kills the CC in one or two shots while playing like a stationary, passive island around their own spawn. We need more punishment-capabilities like the Petro from CC's on mediocre BB players indeed, instead of vice versa.

Do you even play BBs? I agree, that a lot of cruisers, especially in mid tiers need some buffs. But BBs are far from beeing dominant, they get countered by literally every class.

Compared to BB"s and DD's (let alone submarines and carriers) Cruisers really get the short en of the stick. I wish more ships were similar in power to Petro. We have plenty of horrific cruisers like Napoli, Moskva and Des Moines. And yes all Cruisers are dog-water below tier 9 unlike battleships and destroyers.

A couple of reasons. Ships back in the day were often named after goddesses or mother figures since it was said that they take care of and protect the sailors. It also has some lagnuage origins in latin and other languages where their word for a ship is feminine. Its much less common in asia or russia from what i've read. Bismarck was also reffered to in male form cause germans thought he was too magnificent and powerful to be another "she".

She is fine as is. Just don't drive infront of her guns full broadside. Unlike other good cruisers she isn't a fucking island hugger, because her trajectories are too flat. That means when she can shoot you she gets spotted and you can shoot back. Also if the Petropavlovsk uses legmod she doesn't have a lot of consumeables, which means she quickly runs out of utility. She is a fun ship to play for those of us who have good aim and like a boat with really good guns. Don't ruin her for us.
