I was one of the people who's premium event pass refunded all the dubs required to get it, so I did. That netted me 1000 free golden tokens. Spent them at the wharf. Got common stuff and 300 more token. THOSE got me the Chikuma II (the regular one) so I got it for free. Pretty happy with that. Doesn't invalidate what SLM is saying. Pretty bad event unless you get lucky.

Guess I can count myself lucky to be spared this frustration. Those type of lootboxes are considered illegal here, so the entire event doesn't apply. I can earn the tokens, but there's nothing to spend it on. But I dont feel WG is the only company that's leaning more and more into this type of fomo.

I've learned the hard way not to waste resources on some of these events. I have enough premium ships in my port that I never play as it is, and sometimes it's in a tech line I don't like playing. Some, sure, because it's a historic ship I want (yes, I will drop money for the Johnston), but others, like this, I'll take the "free" tokens and once they're gone, that's it.

The Wishing Wharf will only compensate you for an item (ship or camo) with tokens ONE time for that item. After receiving compensation once, that item will then be removed from the pool. Still, I did not like that this mechanic was implemented and am afraid they are testing it for future use.

Thing is it seems the 1k token whammy is for each duplicate so if you already have the Maya and Hyuga let's say I'm pretty sure that's 2 whammies. Seriously if they'd removed the whammies and put a 200 token drop in the common slot this event wouldn't be utter crud... but WG had to go for the gold...

The Wishing Wharf has 1, yes ONE, thing going for it; you can actually take part without spending any money at all, It won't get you very far but at least you can take part. It's a bit like one of those random competitions a certain burger chain partakes in (as well as many other companies) with the "No Purchase Required" moniker. Actually the non ship rewards are quite decent with quite a few Rare and Special Bonuses available. Hving recently had my birthday and doubled up on Doubs, I did splurge a few of those "free" ones back but not many as Chikuma II holds no interest to me whatsoever and I have all the other ships. That said I was mighty pissed off with the compensaion for Mysore in last patch's Event Pass. I got almost as many Community Tokens from clicking "Participate" buttons as I did for Mysore; should have been 3,600 CT not 360 CT - that was an insult imo.

Totally agree, this is just straight up gambling. Something I noticed to though is if you view both the Chikuma II and the golden versions in port, the golden one for some reason has better concealment. If that's actually correct and not a bug that's pretty sketchy.

They did actually clarify that the stat card was incorrect and the stats for both ships were the same (I believe they both had the better concealment of the golden)

Even Gaijin could not reach this level of greed by literally adding a new ship, which btw is just a copy paste and they put no effort into creating it beside coding its new stats, and let the script decide whether you spending enough money to deserve the ship or not. I used only those BP golden tokens. Got also some green and blue boosters. If I finish all possible premium BP extra levels, I would get assured reward👉 Green dragon perma camo 👍 (got 2x50 tokens back, you getting mostly 25 back) No cash into 1hand bandit, lol. Perma camos are pretty common rewards now, you can get plenty different of them for credits too. (so another reason for big no to this "event") Btw I tried luck for Wiesbaden just 30K coal and total 375 doubs. Got only 3? Black, white, red" pema camos. It will fit some of my german ship. No big loss.

Yeah... I was lucky enough to get the full dubs rebate pass and had the Shimanto perma already so I spent my 1k free tokens, got all 'common' drops and that's it. Do not care about the Chic2 aside from the snowflake and while the Laquer camos are beautiful, I don't play those ships nearly enough to chase after them.

On wows legends console they were having gambling for the san deigo and u had to buy 24 bundles for 750 dubs to get q chance to get san Diego or pay 75k dubs to get her right away .it was crazy. 5k dubs on console costs 20 bucks . I got it out of the first crate for 750 dubs. But some people spend 75 thousands dubloons to get a san Diego. It was crazy

The battle pass, whether you buy the extra rewards or not, gives you 450~ tokens. That's 4 pulls in the armory. If you get the minor rewards from the bundles, with 4 pulls you can get over 50 tokens to do an extra pull. So that's 5 pulls for 500~ tokens. That's it. That's literally all the tokens you get from the battle pass. The only extra tokens you can get is paying 2500 dubs for the battle pass and grinding the 50 repeatable tokens at the very end of the pass. The issue there is that the daily/weekly missions give so little points that the pass will be over before you can get any actual value out of the repeating rewards in the end. So it's literally better to spend 2500 dubs on tokens in the armory than to actually buy the pass for tokens. With that you can get around 10 pulls. You need at least 90 pulls to guarantee yourself a ship. This does not give anyone a chance to get anything aside from people who are ready to whale hard on this game. On my first day I saw people who paid crazy money for the golden camo ship which requires 500 PULLS. It's insane. How can people cry about the game and still pay thousands of dollars every patch. What jobs are they working? I didn't know NASA employees had time for video games.

The funny thing is, T9s are already ridiculously expensive and people would buy this one regardless. They don't need to do this bullshit to make lots of money, but I guess enough people will throw their wallets at it to make this even more profitable. They must be raking it in, given Chikuma is more or less a clone of an existing ship in game, so minimal art department budget required for this ship. A small minority with more money than sense/gambling problems probably fund this game nowerdays.

WG should make a new Japanese Premium Tier VII DD Ayanami. Basically Akatsuki with Shimakaze Torps. Yes, I’m talking about Type93 mod3. Torpedoes 12km range 23,767 damage with speed of 67 knots, with detection range of 1.7km. Same reload as Shima. She is the pure torpedo boat DD with only 7.3 concealment while her guns is the same as Akatsuki but she will have no high Damage HE treatment. However, she also have specialty on her ship by default. Ayanami will have Last Stand build in to the ship. Basically, her ship will have Last Stand skill by default. But if the commander with Last Stand skill within her. She will never break down. Means her engine and rudder will be invincible. Basically a Torpedo Boat DDs that have CBT IJN DD guns with ability to be immunity on Engine and Rudder. Her weakness is literally any Gunboat DDs, because they can kill you. Slightly worse concealment than Akatsuki. And CVs loves to hunt you. Ayanami will also gain torpedo reload boosters as a separate slot. Why? Because it isn’t WG to release a total busted ships now isn’t it?

I got 1000 tokens. Because I got the event pass for free (I get my 2500 doubloons back) and I had one of the perma camos already and the compensation was more tokens. With the 1000 I got 14 tries. I have 50 tokens left, so with the rate I get event pass points I will get a few more tries. But I’m not buying more tries. Wherever I get I get, it’s fine.

I wanted more blue economic boosters and I knew what I was getting in to fully. Saying that, I had around 4,000 of the "tokens" which is 40 rolls of the dice (plus the additional rolls you get for the return each try) so around 55 or so tries. I ended up with 35-ish of each blue booster except for free xp which I had around 60. I didn't even count the greens, but it was more than those. The ONLY "rare" item I received was one of the pretty skins.... for a ship I don't own. In the future, I won't participate in any of these extremely greedy "events". It's just pixels and they could at least give you something fair for your attempts imo

Background game: by 10:58 you have 50 main gun hits for 120k dmg (~2,400 dmg per shell). Horrible RNG and really demonstrates the random element of this game. In a different game those 50 could be 250k dmg or more.

I used all the free "coins" for this event. And the last one gave me the tier 7 Hyuga BB. No money spent and I got a premium ship. The feeling? I would say that I got the free stuff the "dealer" gave to us, children, to get us hooked to his rubbish. But I happen to be a cheap addict who never will spend a single cent on loot boxes or even premium ships. Kids, don' t spend your money on alcohol, other drugs, gambling or computer games designed to hook addicts. It would take your freedom out.
