Most likely by design from the wad when attached to heavy slugs going fast. Russians love that extra fear effect on weapons. Katyusha (Stalin's organ) and Kalashnikov (spraying barrage plakata) being the best examples. RPG is not far behind either being the most feared yet cheap weapon ever made, if you have the guts to stand up and shoot it.

I had a similar thought, if this was a sound you knew, that it could cause so much damage, then in war this would make shotguns the worlds most terrifying weapon. Imagine being an iraqi soldier, you knew these existed and once every now and then, you heard that horrible noise in a firefight.

Your heart and the other lung are still working. Yes, if it hits dead center it takes out your heart and you're done. But if it doesn't take your heart out, you have a pretty good chance of surviving it, assuming that you get medical attention asap.

Heard some stories from mechanized infantry guys. Theyd roll up on a tank punched by a HEAT round and find the crew to be a fine red paste all over the walls, and just a small exit hole where the penetrator blasted out. Its insane.

It isnt even 20ft/second above so I imagine it's going trans-sonic a short distance out of the muzzle but due to the inertia from all that mass I wonder if it's maintaining velocity at a further distance or if the mass causes it to go trans sonic sooner.

If it hits hard targets it has an explosive armor melting tip, followed by the penetrator. This is basically how tank penetrators work right now. I imagine these would be terrifying in a combat situation. You hear that sound, then 5 inches off the corner of the wall behind of which you are taking cover turn into a cloud of dust. Your desire to push forward just vanished, and the next time you hear that whistling sound you can't help but to duck and cover.

hey Leon! He used pure lead, I didn't think they would expand that much in Kevlar. In Danny's test shot, (used 1 less grain of Steel) it wasn't nearly as mushroomy.
